I booked the hotel through internet and I got my confirmation. So we were quite happy because the hotel looked very nice (pool villa) and with a good location. Thanks also to the last minute offer, our rate was quite good as well. Nice way of starting our holidays in Bali...

When we arrived in Denpassar airport, the guy from the hotel was waiting us in the international terminal even I sent the right flight number. Well, one small mistake that was fixed really fast. After few minutes the guy came to pick us up. No problem!

When we got into the car, he started talking saying that he was so sorry, blah blah. We didn't understand why so many apologize for this small problem, but... surprise! he was apologizing because even we have the reservation confirmed, due to a server problem (???) our room was not available. He promised us he found a nicer pool villa hotel to relocate us so instead getting angry we gave him the chance to show us the place.

Certainly the place he found for us was not bad, but far from everything!!! We asked him to show us the Annora Hotel facilities to compare and... surprise! Annora hotel was much more higher standard even he told us otherwise. I hate people lying like this.

He said to us that if we were not satisfied with his help, he couldn't help us anymore and he was offering us to give us the refund of the reservation (another lie since we booked and payed already through an internet website). Another lie!!!

After many complains and after wasting our first morning in Bali, we were relocated in a budget hotel nearby since one of the reasons we booked this hotel was we liked the area.

Conclusion: Horrible experience with this hotel and horrible experience with the guy who attended us. Not professional, not willing to help and lying once and again.

My husband and
I stayed here for our honeymoon ... The service was slow, the manicures and
Pedicures from the spa were amateurish at best.. The
Linen was stained and dirty and to add insult to injury , I booked and payed for a late checkout as
Our flights were late at night but they still kicked us out at 12 .. They didn't even bother to tell us before hand .. We found out the hard way .. If u intend on forking our 250 + per night on a villa , stay elsewhere .. This place is garbage and ruined our honeymoon

For nearly $300/night it's fair to have some basic expectations about the quality of accommodation - particularly given Bali is known for its luxurious villas.

Arriving at midnight I was delighted to fall straight into bed until the point that I pulled back my bedcover and saw the stained white bed sheets. Not just vague shades of some past guests, but large pale red coloured stains on various parts of the sheets! When I awoke the next morning and mentioned this to my friend who had arrived earlier the previous day, she said her room's sheets were also the same. So you'd think that when they came with arms full of sheets that morning that I'd get a new set of clean sheets. Well, yes, the sheets were changed, and so were the positions of the stains of this new set along with a tear in the fabric as well! And so this was the case every day - new sheets but always stained!

Pretty poor effort and I have to I wonder whether Cantik Bali Villas office in Sydney
who manages bookings has cared to "secret shop" this place and see this for themselves as it's not doing either the Villa nor the Agent any favours.

The breakfasts were by far the worse we've ever had in Bali. Fruit was flavourless and there was very little of the local dishes on the menu. I noticed that other than breakfast the guest restaurant remained empty day and night. After 2 days we took a taxi to a far better café and paid for breakfast every morning!

In the 2 villa room, I was in the smaller room and the air-con was an older system and very loud throughout the night, and there was minimal natural light or lighting in my room which meant that on sunset you could hardly see in the room - maybe their attempt to disguise the bed sheets!! The installation of ceiling fans in the rooms as an alternative as well as a ceiling fan in the open air lounge area would have been great, as it was often too hot to sit in the lounge area because there was no fan or air con.

In its favour was the day spa which was excellent value but then you could just travel there and enjoy the day spa without having to stay, and the staff were always very friendly.

There's a quirky restriction that the locals have placed on taxi drivers which means empty taxis are not permitted to drive down to the entrance of the villa (a way of local private cars trying to win your business at an overpriced rate), so while the villa is tucked off the main street you do need to walk a few minutes up the road to grab a taxi. There is a courtesy vehicle available at the accommodation but most times it was already busy.

Overall, very disappointing for the price and I'm trying to work whether we were charged incorrectly or whether being an Australian tourist in Bali is reason enough to over charge and under deliver?

Room Tip: Don't stay here!

My girlfriends and I on a recent trip to Bali stayed at this wonderful boutique resort. The accomodation is perfect. We originally had a deluxe suite, then we moved to one of the private villas which was perfect. We have been to Bali many times, and have usually stayed at the larger resort hotels, but Annora is most certainly going to be our top choice now. The staff are just wonderful, the restaurant serves beautiful food and in particular we loved the prawn pizza. Every night the staff (3 of them) came to our room/villa to light our mozzie coil, deliver us complimentary dessert and make an animal with towels for our bed. Just a beautiful place to stay, Thankyou Annora

Room Tip: Deluxe Rooms are huge and perfect, if you want your own pool book a villa.

We stayed at Annora's for our honeymoon for 1 week in a one bedroom villa. The location is perfect because we didn't want to be in the middle of all the loudness and action of Kuta. The beach is a short 5 mins walk (just ask for the shortcut). We were greeted with a private pool filled with petals. Our room was very clean and spacious. Every night we would get a little treat in the fridge - whether it was cake or sorbet or pudding. I thought that this was a very nice touch! With our honeymoon package, we had couple's massage which was very soothing as well as a dinner at our villa prepared by the hotel. The breakfast however is very repetitive: rice, eggs, bacon, juice and coffee.
As for the location, we got lucky, on our side of the beach, there were barely any tourists which gave us the opportunity to relax and catch some sun in peace. If you want to go to Kuta, you can take a cab but you'll have to walk to Seminyak's main road. Since Annora seems to be a new hotel, not all cab drivers know the location of the hotel, which means that you either have to carry the hotel's business card with you or remember to mention that the hotel is in Seminyak and that it's near Grandma's hotel.
Overall, this was the perfect conclusion to our honeymoon, the staff was great, the hotel extremely nice!

Have stayed here 3 times now & just love the location. Close to the beach, shopping, bars & restaurants yet peaceful & quiet.

The staff are warm, friendly, happy & always willing to help. The breakfasts were plentiful with a wide variety of choice & could be taken in your room or at the small poolside restaurant. We ate at the restaurant & had room service in the evening - all meals were tasty & well presented.

We stayed in the deluxe room which was huge & had separate bedroom, bathroom & large living area. There was free wi-fi & we never had problems connecting.

Whilst the pool area is not large it does have a large comfy shaded area where you can chill & relax.

I think Annora offers great value for money given its location & excellent service.

This was our first trip to Bali and although I researched extensively, I was a little nervous as we pulled up outside as we had booked 11 days here. We were delighted with our choice. The friendly greeting set the scene for the remainder of the holiday where the team were always smiling & helpful. We choose a deluxe room upstairs. A spacious open air living room in traditional Balinese wood etc was delightful. Air conditioned bedroom with king sized double met our approval and the bathroom was equally huge. We had no issues. Only downside was the lack of a balcony proper but we tended to have the pool to ourselves most of the time so not really an issue. Not a great deal of storage but by using the suitcases - we managed.

You won't get the extensive buffet breakfast as in many SE Asian hotels but the food was cooked fresh by the side of the pool in the shady courtyard with the sound of the fountain the only accompaniment. We found the fruit juices fresh fruit bacon egg and a couple of pastries more than enough and the staff willingly let us substitute other things off the a la carte menu at no cost.

A rough track takes you to the beach in 5 minutes and whereas other sections of beach were closed at times due to rip tides - our bit was always open. 5 minutes in the other direction took you to the bottom of one of the 2 bar streets. Plenty of bars to suit all tastes with a variety of live music. Plenty of restaurants to suit all budgets. (Look up Da Pat - go to the end of the street to the main road, turn left and it is about 50 yds on the left set back in a small courtyard - it is easy to miss but we had a couple of lovely meals there). We also had a couple of excellent meals in the hotel. Afternoon rain most days (unseasonal we were told) meant the beach bars were not always in full swing but on the days without rain - they got very lively.

About 20/30 min walk to Seminyak Square where the high end shops and posher bars are situated. Worth a visit but we preferred the livelier bars near the Annora. At the end of the night - you return to the peace & quiet. We didn't hear a sound during the entire 11 days!

One warning - if you take a taxi make sure it is a genuine BLUEBIRD taxi. They have their web site on the back, their logo on the windscreen and a bigger bluebird on the top. And most important - a meter. Lesson- hotel to Seminyak Sq - no meter - 50,000 rupiah. Return by bluebird 10,400. You have been warned. Practice & you will soon be able to identify them.

Overall - we prefer Thailand. We found the traffic in the wider area a pain. Had to allow 3 hours to get to the airport (took 20 min on the day). The area is quite built up and you seem to have to travel a long way to find the real countryside.

As regards mosquitos - my wife was dreading Bali after reading the reports. When they hear she is coming we suspect every mosquito in the neighbourhood waits for her. We were gobsmacked - she was not bitten once until the very last day whilst showering in one of the downstairs pool rooms. It is perhaps a credit to the hotel, the precautions, coils at night and spraying the pool area weekly. She used Boots tropical strength repellent containing 50% Deet, wore long trousers on an evening (not that that usually stops them) and had a mosquito free holiday. I wasn't bitten once despite wearing shorts & short sleeves on an evening.

Yes - we will go back to Bali and almost certainly stay at the Annora due to the friendly staff, perfect location, spacious rooms and lovely setting. To all the staff 'treema cassir' - probably spelt wrong but 'thank you'!

Room Tip: As they are built around the courtyard - probably not much to choose between them. We had DeLuxe one...
