Hi. We stayed at Jerami Villas for 3 nights. After moving into a 5-star awesome resort, my 9 year old daughter still asked if we could return to Jerami. She loved the private pool (tepid water despite cloudy weather, clean, new, well-maintained, good enough size, seat in the pool where she could play on) and I especially love the frangipani trees in the huge garden in our villa.

The staff are warm, friendly, & genuine. They are lovely! I wouldn't say the service is the best though but I only fault the management for not providing the staff with proper training. From driver to front desk to housekeeping, we love them all. Such nice charming Balinese people.

Bathroom amenities had a strange bleach smell and my daughter and my hair grew coarser by the use. Eventually, we resorted to using our own shampoo, soaps, and lotion.

I wasn't impressed with the breakfast which I thought was not well done despite their nice presentation. The minute steak was tough, fruits were not ripe, coffee was nescafe, the porridge used leftover, dried-up shredded chicken (& suspiciously made from stock flavouring), pancakes from ready-mix. First morning, margarine, second morning, no margarine. Third morning, they provided butter.

Another inconsistency is the turndown. First night, upon request, the mosquito nets were let down when they came in to spray mosquito repellant. Second night, we returned from dinner to find that our room was sprayed but mosquito nets still up. Third night, the staff were on stand by to spray our rooms. Yes, quite a few mozzies around. They do provide lots of mosquito coils to light up around the villa.

The villa shuttle was frequently unavailable so sometimes, we took the blue bird taxi, which is inexpensive.

Our deal included return airport transfer and because we were not leaving for the airport upon check out, we negotiated for them to send us to the intended destination at an agreed price and they obliged. We thought that was kind of the villa management.

We liked watching tv outside in the lounge room and in the villa, too. We were so relaxed that we took our time to do most things and ended up late for dinner reservations but such is the villa life... We ate at ultimo, hana, mamasan (mostly10mins by taxi except for hana which is just hundred steps away) and loved everything we ordered.

Bali Deli (supermarket) just down the road, followed by local shopping (mix of boutiques and local crafts). I bought a nice Bali-made leather handbag at Jl Kunti. My husband had a nice reflexology a few doors down. I joined a wonderful yoga class with Master Jessie at Prana Yoga across from Warung Jerami. Due to time constraints, we couldn't try the spa at jerami. I believe we would've been satisfied.

Overall, a happy stay!

I know this is a long review but I just felt that I needed to write about our wonderful experience at Villa Jerami.

Leaving Villa Jerami yesterday was st impossible! I stayed there with 3 friends to celebrate my 40th birthday and I cannot say enough great things about it.

We booked a 2 bedroom villa and even from the booking it was a pleasant experience.
When we arrived we had already had a long day of travelling, it was almost midnight and were still adjusting to the staff at Jerami were exceptional. Within 5 minutes we were checked in and being shown to our villa. They were even perceptive to see that we were very tired and decided to hold some information til the next morning as they knew it was not a good time for us.

The villa was magnificent. We stayed in villa B220. I was concerned that the open air living area would be difficult to deal with as I am not used to the heat however it was just great. Although it can be a little warm at times the pool is always there to cool off in. Having a full sized refrigerator was fantastic. Another unexpected feature was the complimentary water cooler. This meant that we did not have to rush out to buy bottled water all the time and we could even make our own ice for the drinks! This place is so quiet, we did not once hear any road noise and only the occasional splash from the adjoining villa's pool.

The bedrooms are a great size an we had asked for twin beds in each room even though it was indicated that only 1 room had twin beds. This request was no problem for Villa Jerami.

The 'outdoor' bathrooms, there is one for each bedroom, were also very wonderful. They are a little warm as this area is not air conditioned which can make getting ready to go out a but sweaty but its Bali, its warm. The only thing I would have liked to see was a mirror in the bedroom so that you can put the finishing touches on in the cool.

The villa was cleaned from top to bottom, everyday! Even on our first day when all we had done was sleep there. A team of around 4-5 people come and change the sheets on all the beds, changed the towels, clean the bathrooms and the entire living area, a gardener comes to tidy the dropped leaves and the pool guy came to check the pool. The cleaning usually took around 1hr to 90mins. If we were there they would clean around us. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and introduced themselves to us, we had the same housekeeper every day and he explained to us what was happening and would always ask if it was ok for them to clean.

On our first day we opted for breakfast in the restaurant as we were unable to make the choices when we were tired from traveling but after that we had breakfast in our villa each day. It was very nice to have the breakfast ready in our dining area and not have to get dressed to go to the restaurant. the only issue we had with this was that the food was not as hot as the day we ate in the restaurant but that is what happens thing are delivered. It was still delicious.

The front desk staff were always available to assist us and would often offer to drive us on our outings, if they were local. If not, they would call us a taxi.

On our last day we decided to have a spa treatment in the Royal Jerami Spa, what a magnificent experience! 2 1/4 hrs of total bliss for the grand total of $35 Australian!

The last thing to mention is the location. Although Jerami is not near the beach nowhere is far when a taxi cost $2. But it is right next to the Bali Deli where you can get a whole range of wonderful deli products, groceries, wine and other drinks. Also, as it is close to Jl Sunset it is sometimes easier to get around from here than other parts of Seminyak where the traffic can be bad.

I highly recommend a stay at the Villa Jerami. I will be back again, That's a promise! I am already planning it.

Thanks for a wonderful trip!

Room Tip: As all rooms are set back from the road I think they are all quiet

The staff at villa jerami made our stay here amazing. Anything we wanted they were on it, booked us restaurants, found us a cruise to do, etc. So welcoming and kind.
The villas were clean and nice, not as nice as the photos showed but still good. Bathrooms especially were beautiful- loved the outdoor shower!
Overall- great experience

In September 2012 a friend and I stayed in a two bed villa at Villa Jerami and had a wonderful two weeks there. This year we came back with seven friends and had the 3 bedroom villa and two one bedroom villas and in the twelve months between visits nothing had changed. The staff went above and beyond as usual. There was no request of ours that was not fulfilled happily. All staff members from the lovely Wyan on the reception desk to the boys who came to spray the room for mosquitoes each night were such a pleasure to deal with. The villas are centrally located in Seminyak and having the Bali Deli close by was a real bonus for any grocery items that you require. The money changer that operates within the deli gives a good rate which is also very handy. Our friends were so impressed that they all want to come back in 2014.

After reading the reviews and paying high season rates we had high expectations and villa jerami delivered in every way.
We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa with our 3yr old son for 5 nights.
The villa was lovely. The room was a decent size with a huge bed and we could still squeeze in a single bed for our son. The bathroom was beautiful with the semi open shower area as well as a bath. If I had one gripe there wasn't much storage space for clothes. The outdoor lounge, kitchen and eating area was spacious with a decent sized pool. I was worried it would be too cold but it was actually fine to swim in the whole day - it was also spotlessly clean. The villa was fully serviced cleaned and sprayed for mosquitos everyday.
Service was equally as good - smiling friendly staff but it's the little things that make you realise you're staying somewhere top class - for me it was the security guards shining their torches into your taxi when you return at night to make sure you havent left anything behind or the staff at front desk making sure your taxi driver knew where you wanted to go.
We had breakfast in our our room everyday, a nice treat. Like many others we loved the pancakes!
Location is pretty central, 5 mins drive to oberoi street where many of the resturants are, yet once within your villa you would think you were miles from anywhere. There is a jerami beach club at double 6 beach in legian which is basically a small area with reserved beach beds but unles you plan to surf there the beach there is not that exciting, the water not really inviting for swimming and the villa is a much better place to relax.
My wife had a treatment at the jerami spa and loved it.
Overall it was pretty hard to leave the peace, tranquility and comort of the villa - we had left this place the last stop of our Bali trip and happily had left the best until last.
One final point, if you are looking for a treat we definitely recommend the restaurant sardine in krokoban for dinner, definitely the best restaurant we ate in Bali - we had to book 2 days in advance so worth booking ahead in peak periods. Also if you have kids, waterbom, a water park in Kuta is masses of fun!
