“Home away from home!”
Reviewed May 30, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This is my second stay at Umalas Retreat, first was in Villa 1 last year with Juwini, the villa chef looking after us, she is just an amazing chef and host!

We recently had a 9 night stay in Umalas Retreat Villa 3.
What a beautiful villa! Very well appointed with everything you could possibly need including a lovely pool, 2 great bedrooms with awesome ensuite bathrooms complete with huge full sized bath and outdoor shower plus huge indoor/outdoor living area and kitchen that comes with a chef!
Rosita the villa chef is lovely and went out of her way to make us all happy. She even taught us some Indonesian that I actually remember!
Putu Morris and Nyoman looked after the pool and garden, keeping it in ship shape condition whilst maintaining 24 hour security outside the villa.
Seminyak is close, approximately 10 minutes, with heaps of awesome shopping, bars and restaurants to explore and costs about 38,000IR (approx. $3.80 AUD) in a bluebird cab each way.
Kuta is a 40 minute drive and costs about 80,00IR ($8.00 AUD) in a bluebird cab each way.
With return airport transfers and continental breaky included in the price, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bali, my friends and I will definitely be returning again soon.
Definitely put this place on your bucket list!

Having stayed previously in another Umalas Retreat villa, we were expecting big things from the newly opened Umalas Retreat 3. And we weren’t disappointed.
To start with, the villa is beautiful with all of the homely touches we had been spoiled with before. Everything has been thoughtfully considered, and everything that we needed during our stay was within easy reach.
Sleeping
Big, and by that I mean HUGE! comfy beds, super soft linen and generous bath towels, large bedrooms and dressing rooms, enormous bathrooms with substantial 2 person tubs.
Playing
Great spaces around the villa to relax, comfy couch, a cool swing which our kids loved and a fabulous hammock by the pool that we struggled to get my other half off.
A great pool with a large step for the kids to play on, which also came in handy come happy hour.
Big TV with cable and DVD player, as well as a DVD collection that we put to good use.
Great library which I started to read; I’ll be back to finish the rest!
Eating
Oh my god. We ate most meals in as Rositas cooking was divine. Divine! The woman is a wonder in the kitchen, and I doubt that there is anything she can’t cook. And when we needed something she was off in a flash to get it. Like magic. Or our very own genie. I could get used to that.
This is such a fabulous place to relax, recharge and reconnect with the family. Well done Umalas Retreat. You’ve done it again.

“Brilliant - fantastic location, close to action and set in tranquility”

Hubby and I recently secured the opportunity to head off to Bali for a long weekend, and came across some amazing specials at Umalas Retreat III.

We were incredibly lucky to get a last minute deal, advertised on their Facebook page, however I would have to say that even at full rates this place would be exceptional value.

This is not your average cookie cutter villa. It is decorated beautifully, with so many personal and thoughtful additions it is like walking into someone’s well-loved home.

We were welcomed at the door by the lovely Rosita, and felt instantly relaxed. Having our own chef on site was such a lovely touch...when we were hungry, we ate, when we were thirsty, we drank and when we didn’t need her, she disappeared.

We especially loved the pool, it was the perfect size and temperature and oh-so private. This villa is not overlooked at all.

The standard inclusions were a nice touch, especially the welcome hamper, lovely toiletries and the mobile phone (saves on global roaming charges!)

The location of the villa was just perfect for our needs. We relaxed during the day and headed out to eat and play at night, less than 5 minutes from some amazing restaurants and bars in Pettittinget like Slippery Stone, Barbacoa, Bazaar and Metis, as well Alila Seminyak for sunset drinks.

Not to mention, we were only a short taxi-ride into the traditional hot-spots of Kuta and Legian, and also far enough out that a trip to Tanah Lot or Canggu's Eco Beach were within easy reach.

We’ve found our accommodation of choice and will definitely be staying at Umalas Retreat again.

“Dreamy Stay - can't wait to be back”

What more could we have asked for on our trip to Bali! The area is perfect, close enough to everything, yet has the old world feel that allows you to really relax.

This villa was so beautifully decorated. We loved that we were each able to find a relaxing place to curl up with a book and a drink. My husband loved the hammock for a afternoon snooze, whilst I just loved the hanging chair with my book in hand. And we all enjoyed to pool every day of our stay! Of course, the kids also loved going through the DVD library and having a few late movie nights!

The linens and beds provided the most beautiful nights slumber, the only thing that got me up and going in the morning was knowing there was a beautiful breakfast prepard by Rosita waiting for me, and more of goegeous Bali to enjoy!

The bathrooms are devine, to be able to enjoy the open air is just a dream! And the baths....!! So lovely! All the toiletries were very much appreciated, and topped up during our stay! No running out of conditioner half way through the trip!!

All the staff made out trip so relaxing, not a thing for us to have to worry about! The airport pick up and drop off service was wonderful, it relaxed us right from the beginning! If you do decide to eat away from the villa ask Putu for a recommendation, he finds the most amazing places!!

Couldn't recommend this villa enough!
