Went to Brunei to attend my best friend's wedding and seemed like this hotel was the best choice. So our friend booked a few rooms for us using the corporate rate. The whole thing was pretty grand. Lobby was like, is this the next sequel of Indiana Jones??? Then we found out the resort was huge. We had to walk for 3 mins from the front desk to our wing (a separate building). The room was big with a balcony overseeing the beach. Bathroom was big with a nice tub too!
Do spend some time in the pool and the beach. Very pleasant. BTW, the mini bar was empty. But by paying something like USD10 or so, you can have it filled. They would give you like 10-12 cans/ bottles of different drinks. We requested all Diet Coke, argued for a while and finally they said OK.
Just do not expect you can get around the city very easily. Public transport is close to non-existent in Brunei and you will certainly feel like imprisoned in the resort if you are the kind of person who needs to go out all the time. But the resort is big enough to keep you occupied for a few days.More
