We stayed just one night at the Bloomestate but we could have stayed forever. The host is amazing. The rooms are really stylish and comfortable. The breakfast is lovely. The garden has a magical atmosphere. Still think about the most sweet and adorable rhodesian.

We checked in at short notice after a poor experience in a nearby town.Difficult to tell from the exterior as it is tucked away from street view but Bloom is an excellent 5 star B&B set on lovely grounds.Rooms are beautifully decorated and attention to detail is evident everywhere. Martin and Carla were very welcoming and the breakfast was stunning in quality and presentation. We wished we had more time to spend at Bloom

I came to bloomestate to enjoy the beautifulness of the Overberg mountains, drink excellent wine's from the Robertson valley and relax. The lodge is situated on the foothills of the Overberg mountains on the edge off this historic town of Swellendam. The garden rooms, lounge and main house are spacious, clean and modern decorated. The breakfast is super, lots off fresh fruits, yogurts, Dutch cheese, etc. The hosts, Carla and Maarten, are lovely and helpfully people who know everything about the regions highlights and the best restaurants. Bloomestate is the place to go to in Swellendam.

Room Tip: All the suite's are impeccable and lovely decorated. But if you have the opportunity book the r...

A family of four, we stayed here for just one night driving from Cape Town to Botlierskop. Fortunately we arrived early so we had some time to relax in the nice pool area and enjoy the wonderful garden. The hotel area offers a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. You'll also find a rich supplied honesty bar. Carla and Maarten really have an eye for details, you'll find classy decoration everywhere. If you don't know where to have dinner, just ask and you will get suggestions and help with reservations. The breakfast was superb with some european influences which we euopeans appreciated.

We were a family with 3 children and stayed for 2 nights.
The rooms were beautiful, and bathrooms huge and spotless. We were given a warm welcome and the children all shared a room which was no hassle at all.
The garden and grounds are lovely, and sadly for us it was raining so we couldn't enjoy the pool and hammocks. The breakfast was the best of our trip, and there was a list of about 15 types of tea to choose from, and little dainty pastries, pieces of smoked salmon and delicious fruit salad.
Overall, I would certainly recommend Bloomestate. This is a lovely place to stay, and probably suited best for couples and families with older kids rather than toddlers - our girls loved it and are aged 9-13. There are lots of good restaurants near by, and the massage at the spa was fantastic.

We booked very last minute (same day!) and the hosts were hugely accommodating and welcoming. We were a party of three and they saw it no hassle to add an extra bed into one of the suites for us.

The location is tranquil and immaculate. I have never seen a bathroom so clean! As three friends on a road trip, we spent most of our time in the outdoor Jacuzzi putting the world to rights over a couple of bottles of wine. There is an honesty bar which is reasonably priced.

The next morning I sat by the pond on the jetty watching birds dip down into the water, getting their breakfast. Blue water lilies were just opening. It really was a fantastic way to start the day. The smell of lavender by the rooms is also a wonderful touch to help you unwind.

The hosts were very friendly and loved showing us their new puppy, who we played with after breakfast. Breakfast was FANTASTIC! I could have stayed there all day grazing on the buffet offerings alone.

I really recommend this place as the ideal stop off on the Garden Route. I wish we had stayed more than one night.

Room Tip: We had a room by the Jacuzzi and pond. lovely.
