Absolutely gorgeous. I agree with everything in the overview. The facilities of a chic boutique hotel with the ambiance of a welcoming guesthouse. Luxury bathroom with amazing Rain Adrica products. Wonderful Rain spa is also in the premises with massages to die for.
We stayes for 2 nights and were planning to go to De Hoop but Bloomestate was so nice we decided to stay there instead.
Out of 2 trips to SA and nearly 20 local guesthouses Bloomestate has been by far the best.

Although a key attribute of Bloomestate is its equidistance between Cape Town and Knysna on the Garden Route, its quality makes it a destination in its own right. The facilities are first class, beautifully maintained and conducive to a relaxing visit. The attention to detail is apparent everywhere within the grounds and rooms at Bloomestate, combining contemporary design in a tranquil landscape. Maarten and Carla are great hosts who work very hard to deliver a laid back and welcoming environment. Don't miss it!

The pictures of the accommodation speak for itself. The perfect place to relax, definitely worth the drive over. Fantastic pool and clean, stylish rooms and a great lounge with all the facilities for you to read, listen to music or watch dvd's on a rainy day, or simply have drinks inside or outside on any day. The hosts will walk the extra mile and help you with any special requests. Even (optional) dinner reservations had been made prior to our arrival. We had a perfect stay and hope to return!

We stayed for 2 nights on our way to Cape Town. We arrived pretty tired after a long trip from Plettenberg but were soon sitting with Carla with a refreshing drink and taking in the lovely setting. Beyond the gates is a lovely garden with pond, hammocks and the buildings and decor have a very calming relaxing atmosphere. We were shown to our room, the Red Cloud, wow it was very nice! A huge comfy bed, a super cool bathroom with nice toiletries, Nespresso coffee machine etc etc. It was on the end of one of the blocks opposite the swimming pool. We had a very comfortable sleep on both nights. There is a lounge for guests with magazines, books, CD's etc and an honesty bar. Carla and Maarten can also arrange light food and on the day we arrived, we had a lovely cheese and fruit platter. They very kindly booked us into 2 different restaurants both of which were very good, La Sosta and Koornlands. On our return to the room on our first night we were met by lovely tea lights leading the way .....very sweet! Breakfasts are served in the main house and again the decor is very cool and calming but also fun and refreshing! There was a good choice of buffet, excellent cold meats, cheese, fruit, salmon, cereals, breads and pastries etc and it was all beautifully presented. They had even catered for my gluten free request so there was tasty cereal and home made gluten free bread, not the easiest to make! This was really appreciated. They were both always discreetly on hand to help and even sent us a New Year message on our return home! We will definitely stay again as it was a peaceful oasis in our hectic South African trip! We really liked Swellendam as well, its not big and has a nice atmosphere and the locals take time to look after you and are proud of their town. Thanks again Carla and Maarten and hope the dogs are doing well, especially little Buster though not little for long!

Tranquil, friendly, unpretentious; perfect place to relax and unwind as spacious grounds with areas to chill - on a sunbed, in the hammock, in the jacuzzi, under the trees, near the river, in the sun or shade. Unobstrusive friendly hosts who went the extra mile. Breakfast fresh and well presented.

I stayed here with my mum, sister and a friend for three nights before my wedding in an attempt to de-stress. I'm glad we did because it was absolutely perfect in every way! Carla and Maarten went out of their way to make us feel welcome and special.

Highlights:

- Vast grounds with a sprawling lawn, orchard and pond
- Secluded outdoor jacuzzi
- Magnificent to die for breakfast every morning
- Private yoga lessons by the pond, organised for us by Carla upon request
- Dinner pre booked for us in a different restaurant in town each night (all absolutely lovely)
- Special lunch made for us upon request and delivered poolside
- Treatments from excellent beauty therapist
- Spacious room and en suite stocked with robes, slippers and Rain products
- Receiving a wedding gift and card from Carla and Maarten on departure

I will definitely stay again, as well as recommended Bloomestate to anyone!
