stayed 3 nights at the country lodge- betty and heiko make you feel very welcome-traveldesk available for daytrips in the area-breakfast presentation was excellent-visited them on our Garden Tour-

Room Tip: rooms are in a garden setting and from what we have seen are from the same standard

We stayed here for a night in Feb 2011 for around R900. The lodge is somewhat out of the main area of the central town in the 'suburbs', set in beautiful grounds and gardens. There was a lovely, generous breakfast with delicious fresh fruit, meats, cereals, eggs (but cheeses could have been more varied, given the surrounds). Very kind and helpful hosts. Small but delightful swimming pool (but a bit crowded when lodge full - not enough reclining chaises!). We had a twin room which was significantly cooler than the heatwave outside and spotlessly clean: a symphony of browns; functional, but a bit small, dull and rather lacking in charm. Pretty bamboo ceiling. Generously sized bathroom but also rather dull. One or two small adjustments could improve the ambience considerably. But these are quibbles - good value all round.

This whole property has been stylishly renovated and equipped to a high standard. Rooms are extremely comfortable, spacious and well appointed. Weather very hot during our stay and it was great to relax by the pool . Excellent breakfast the next day sitting on the stoop overlooking the landscaped gardens. Off street parking and location convenient for several nearby eateries. A pity we were only staying one night - we could happily have stayed for longer

We spend 1 night at the Swellendam Country Lodge and we had a super stay. Heiko and Betty try their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Heiko helped to start our car with the jumpercables and even catched the big spider that was sneaking around in our room ! The rooms are really nice, the pool is big and secluded and last but not least: the breakfast was FANTASTIC !! Whenever you make a stopover in Swellendam or will spend a few nights, go there !!! You will not be disapointed !

Found in the B&B portfolio, we gave this place our first try and we liked it from the first moment. The 4 chaletslike rooms lay away from the main road in a nice fruit garden. Behind the rooms was the pool, breakfast was served in the main house. We were greeted by Heiko, the owner and his wonderfull dog. Breakfast was georgous, fresh fruit, muesli, full english breakfast if wanted.
