My partner and I weren't expecting much, seeing as Swellendam is a small town and it's residents don't seem like foodies. We were completely blown away. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner who promptly gave us a complimentary amuse bouche of hand cured beef. It was so good we followed that up with an order of antipasto which was an array of delicious meats. The mains we had were both delicious, chicken cooked three ways and mushroom ravioli. The cherry on top of the sunday was dessert. The chocolate cake is by far the best chocolate cake I have ever had the pleasure of eating. It's rich and creamy and not at all dry. There is clearly care taken in each menu item and it shows. On our garden route trip we booked meals at all the top restaurants, and this place by far outdid the rest. Highly recommend.
