Somerset West is a great location, close to the beach, mountains and city. Great local shops and restaurants - a great base for exploring Cape Town and the winelands. This cottage is very comfortable with reclining chairs, access to a bbq and a number of TV channels, if you fancy staying in. If not, there are many amazing local places to visit and eat: two of our favourites were Vergelegen for an amazing lunch with unbelievable views (you must book in advance) and Avontuur in the evening.
The hosts were a wealth of knowledge with regards to places to go and local history, you will not be disappointed staying here!

“Excellent facility with welcoming hosts.”
Reviewed October 22, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Heide Cottage is a lovely home in a beautiful setting. Welcoming, knowledgeable hosts helped us arrive smoothly and settle in seamlessly. Cottage is comfortable for the four of us (family with older teens), and ideally located for touring. Cape Winelands. The beaches -- and Cape Town itself -- are within easy driving distance. Somerset West is a (to us) surprisingly attractive setting, yet also has superb, modern shopping opportunities.

Heide Cottage is an excellent choice for a short or a long [six weeks for us] stay.

“A spacious, well equipped cottage in a beautiful location.”
Reviewed January 15, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Heide cottage is a spacious, well equipped modern cottage set in the beautiful area of Somerset West. There are big, well kept gardens with a surprisingly warm swimming pool. Returning to the cottage at the end of a busy day felt like arriving home, it was that comfortable. It's a short drive to the nearest beach where the sand is so soft and stunning views of the mountains make for great photos. The Somerset Mall is even closer with lots of places to eat out and many, many shops. We would recommend visiting Stellenbosch. An old cultural town that is surrounded by vineyards which is about a 20 minute drive away. And then there is Cape Town itself with all its popular attractions, which is about a 45 minute drive. Andy and Mel, who own the property and live in the main house made us feel very welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this cottage.

“Fantastic accomodation in the perfect location”

Heide Cottage was perfect for us. The kitchen/lounge is light, spacious and comfortable. It is great to be able to eat just outside on the patio, which we did every morning for breakfast, in the sunshine. The cottage is surrounded by an attractive garden. Close by is a shopping complex, having everything you need, including supermarkets. An idyllic nearby beach has a backdrop of mountains with the characteristic puffy clouds wrapping around the tops. It is only a short drive to Cape Town with all that is offered there, including the not- to-be-missed Waterfront and Table Mountain and so much more.
There are many fairly local wineries and the nearest one also has beautiful gardens and a great restaurant as well as excellent wine.
Somerset West is perfectly situated to access more of this amazing region.
