Description: Founded in 1700, Lourensford Estate has married its historic heritage with a vision to be at the forefront of modern wine technology and a leader amongst South African Wine producers. Owner & Executive Chef, Bjorn Guido's cooking career started at The Greenhouse at Cellars-Hohenort under chef Peter Templehoff. He then moved abroad and joined Babington House, part of the SOHO HOUSE group under the renowned Ronnie Bonetti of River Cafe London. After gaining experience abroad, he returned home and took up the role of Head Chef at The Franschhoek Kitchen on the Holden Manz Wine Estate. Food provenance and sustainability are core to Millhouse's philosophy. The eatery's contemporary barn-conversion interior puts a modern twist on classic elements, featuring a mix of leather banquette seating and reclaimed timber walls. Bjorn's aim was to create a neighbourhood feel where guests can relax and enjoy each other's company. Watch as food is prepared in the expansive open kitchen and Italian style pizza's are delivered fresh from the wood fired oven.

An all round winner; laid back vibe, exceptionally good and well informed service, Food great. Family friendly and the day we were there packed, but you never for a moment felt that the wheels were coming off. 2 very small gripes; a tad noisy [due possibly to very stylish, mod design], and unless you have a Kate Moss butt, the chairs are a bit tight. Otherwise; hats off!

This was the disappointment of the month. It was the worst rumpsteak since a very long time. Instead of medium rare it come completely overcooked. From the 300 grams I had to cut of nearly half. The steak was tough as leather, no value for money. Sorry to say.
The lamb cutlets for my wife came rare instead of medium, full of fat.
All in all a wasted evening and as well wasted money. The service was poor, guest at the neighbor table went away after not being attended for 10 minutes.
A lot to learn.

Been here for breakfast and dinner on a few occasions. Food and service always good. Pleasant atmosphere and amazing location! Had breakfast recently on 16th Jan, food was excellent and reasonably priced. Will go back again!

I can really recommend this place. I've been there now more than once, and i can still say it is great. The staff, service, is very good. And the food is stunning. I also love the decor.

Have just had the most wonderful dinner at the Millhouse kitchen.
It was the perfect summer night and our grandchildren loved the jungle gymn. The atmosphere was funky but homely and the service great. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals from pizza to springbok and the desserts were amazing with great coffee too. Even though you were in town you felt a million miles away from the hustle and bustle. Will definitely be our local favorite!!
