In the middle of the vineyard with the same name the restaurant is one of the most visible attraction points in Waterkloof Vineyard.
Of course the wine is excellent, the food amazing and the service more than top!
And all of this for very little money (a 5 course meal inclusive 5 different wines for only €40).
Of course it's a French chef who makes the dishes since a couple of years now.
It adds value to your stay in South-Africa !!!

When driving uphill to the restaurant you will be impressed by the location of the restaurant.

The design of the building and the interior of the restaurant is perfect.

Food very tasty and wines superb.

When in Cape Town or surroundings don't miss it.

We were lucky to be introduced to Watercloof by our wine merchant in the Uk,Amps of Oundle. If you plan to visit the winery ask if they will give you a vinyard tour. This no ordinary vinyard it is organic and all the ploughing is done by wonderfull Pershiron Horses, the workers prune by hand and everything is recycled for composting the vines. They even have a worm farm, a chicken farm, more for the droppings to compost, than the eggs and not least a great restaurent with wonderful views over False Bay.Food and service was great as were the wines of course.

Took parents visiting from the UK to the restaurant for lunch today, and what a lovely location. Fantastic views from a really impressively designed restaurant.
We eat out several times a week in locations around Cape Town and this was the first visit to Waterkloof. The service was attentive - but zero character and communication from the waiter, all he wanted was orders in his electronic device. The menu was fairly limited, so much so that none of our party could find a starter they wanted. The main courses were "OK" , presented very artistically, but sadly lacking any real flavour. Very bland fish with risotto. My dessert was a seriously odd mix of "white chocolate" tasting of Dairylea cheese, with cake crumbs, dollops of sorbet, foams etc. Let's just say that we all thought the food looked nice, but none of us would return. The food needs flavour, the staff need to get a rapport with the guests, and someone should go and and see some of the fantastic restaurants nearby, to get ideas for menus.

The Cape Winelands boast some seriously good places to dine, but to stand our in the crowd, restaurants need to position themselves as a destination. Waterkloof does this - through it's location, views and horse riding options. The food is very adventurous and what you'd expect at a fine dining establishment in this part of the world. I'd highly recommend the Foie Gras with Pistachio Macaroon if its on the menu. Well worth the visit.
