A group of 7 of us went for dinner here. The drive up from the main road leads you to an ultra-modern building of concrete and glass (very unlike many of the vineyards in the area) the views are stunning. The Restaurant opened for dinner at 19.00 and we arrived to watch the sun set.

As a table we decided to try the Degustation Menu 6 small courses with matching wines at R500 per head, only available if ordered by the entire table.

I have to say the food was amazing and the accompanying wine was very well selected. Service was efficient (not overly friendly), I found it hard to sometimes hear the descriptions of the wines, it would have perhaps been nice to have tasting notes handed out.

At the end of our meal the chef came out to talk to use which was a nice touch.

We then sat around the massive fire and had coffee after our meal. I would recommend Waterkloof and look forward to a return visit

We were so disappointed, the service was so slow and uninterested and the staff could not tell us about questions we asked about the food? I asked if the scallops starter was hot and our waiter said yes, what arrived was awful, cold sliced scallops not marinated well, with awful sweet marinated mussels, which were more than half the dish and not even mentioned, it was inedible and smelt, they did take it back and the marinated salmon was lovely, but our mains were so disappointing, I had pork done 3 ways, very nice but no sauces, vegetables or starches, and my husbands cob I think, very nice but about 50g of fish, like a starter, then we asked for cheese to finish off the meal and we got a dessert with goats cheese, could have been lovely, looked good but the gelatine strips across the plate, were acidic and tasted awful, surely the chef must taste and test his dishes before he puts items like this on the menu? Very sad as the view is spectacular across Gordons Bay.

We were a party of 38 for a wine tasting and lunch. The staff were on hand to meet us and guide us through a very good wine tasting followed by a two course lunch. As we were a group we were offered a menu choice of two main courses and two sweets. We enjoyed a venison main which was well presented and tasty. The other main was fish. The portions were small and thus one should probably have three courses. They did provide a small entre before desert which was an enjoyable extra. The two sweets we enjoyed lemon meringue and a carrot sponge cake, both were good, I preferred the carrot sponge cake desert. Service was vey good all receiving our meals at the same time. The wines were good and prices in the restaurant were at cellar prices. The meals are not for families as there is no children's menu. The menu is pricey expect to spend R 300 each for a meal. The views are superb.

We were seated at the huge windows overlooking the twinkling lights in the distance! The service was professional and friendly ..... and then the food arrived!
All 3 courses were excellent. Visually superb, fresh, excellent flavours and textures. Extra treats included at tasty 'amuse', a refreshinf 'pre-desert' and a delightful plate of petit fours after the meal.
The starters included fresh Marron (fresh water crayfish) Ceasar salad, beautifully presented and cleverly changed from a Bistro to a fine-dining experience; Salmon trout 'salad' - fresh and tasty! The mains included Springbok fillet with gnocchi (on dissappointment as they were very heavy) - delicious & cooked to perfection. Duck breast prepared with Cape Malay flavours was delicious, exquisitely prepared & presented. Desserts were a real WOW.......... A FEAST!

this is my new favourite restaurant in Cape Town. It is such a pleasure to eat food that is fresh and amazingly creative. And the service was extremely friendly too(specifically the Maitre'd).
