“Fantastic beach walk”

The walk to Gerickes point is a must for any beach lover. It is an easy 4 kms stroll there and back. There is always something different to see - black oystercatchers, a beached whale, featherduster worms, nautilis shells to name a few. In spring tide, the rocks are exposed and there are hundreds of small pools to explore and search for octopus. The night version of this walk is an experience in itself.

A beautiful beach walk fun for kids, all ages as not too far. Go at low tide or spring low and there are amazing rock pools to explore. One of the few places on the Garden Route that you still find some shells although the variety is nothing like it used to be! A popular sea fishing spot too! Lovely to take a picnic and spend a few hours.

This is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Garden Route. At the end of the beach there are numerous rock pools which will provide endless hours of entertainment at low tide. In July/Aug it is not uncommon to find whales frolicking in the bay. This beach is rarely crowded and offers a nice long walk in two directions.

Way cool!!!! Just watch the tide. It is a must at low tide with beach and rock pools and beauty and wind-blasted sand dunes with overhangs that are breath-taking. Look out for the sea creatures and the abundance of bird-life.
Ablution facilities at Swartvlei Beach before you start walking to Gerickes.

Beautiful beach walk, especially at low tide. Have also enjoyed a great moonlight beach walk which is organised for full moon and low tide evenings, torches to check out the rock pools, fascinating.
