This was well worth a visit
Fantastic site in the tree tops
Walk from your unit down to the river
Definitely at least do 2 nights if not 3
Friendly and everything worked well
for indigenous forest lovers this one is a must and although it is not cheap the set- up must have cost
To me, preferable to nay 5 star hotel room

Room Tip: Ask for one with a bath ......once in a lifetime bath expereience!

Thanks I am so pleased you have enjoyed your stay. Being a unique tree house resort, you are correct does cost. An initial decision was that we wanted each tree house to be very private and far from the next, which results in a huge infrastructural cost. Initally chosen to ensure privacy, we have realised it reduces any damage to the pristine indigenous forest, as the impact is spread over a larger area, making a smaller impact in any one place. Pleased you appreciated it.

Robyn

A very fun and nice trip in the forest.
The braai are/ bath are really enjoyable with this view.
Everything is perfect, but for the ones that want to go: don't forget that you're going in a forest not in a new fancy hotel...bring all your food and stuff and your trip will be amazing

Hi Emmanuel
I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. I think your adivce to fellow travellers is very accurate. It is a forest on a farm. It is not a city with municipality services and sterilized environments. Its trees, fynbos, insects, birds, butterflies, stars, sunsets life and beauty. Regards Robyn

Absolutely a lovely gateway destination. We had a great stay and the views is excellent! Everything you need at the place with a great bath tub. We did the walk in the forest. Only the pathway at the river was difficult to find. But all other aspects was truly awesome!!

Hi, I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We will go re-open paths again, thanks for the advice. The forest wants to grow, it lives. I think if we left here within 20 years not only would all the paths be closed by the tree houses would have returned to being forest. Regards

Couldn't believe how much was jam-packed into one property: weber, microwave, fridge, and safe in a treehouse? The Swiss Family Robinson has nothing on this place! Also on property: swimming pool with balance beam to spar on, solar-powered jacuzzi, board games and TV for rainy days, jumbo chess board, jungle gym, sandbox, communal firepits... Only negative is hot water - solar power for a jacuzzi tub makes hot water on a hot day? Solar-powered geyser in unit was unable to generate enough hot water for a bath, and neither could back-up gas power. Very comfortable, yet earthy enough to be rustic. Loved it, and would go back for longer stay.

Hi, I am sorry there was not enough hot water, pleased you still enjoyed your stay. The 'jacuzzi' was originally put in as a kids play pool, so we did not worry about heating it. But that is not what its used for so we need to change that and put proper heating in. As for the tree house I am sorry. its so sad. We want to be green, so we have solar geysers, but they don't work when it rains, so we added gas geysers, which light on demand and only heat as much eater as you use. Your comment is the reality. Electricity (which in South Africa is based on coal) is the best way to heat water to ensure 100% of the time it will be hot. Sad but true.

Robyn

Our family loved staying at Teniqua Treetops. It was a great place for the boys as they enjoyed the "tree house" lodging and we all enjoyed exploring the beautiful trails and river. The bath in our accommodation was spectacular! It is a wonderful place to spend several days and just relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Being so close to nature, having all the privacy you can ask for was what I expected and the experience was all that and much more. The accommodation is great and the beautiful views of the forest is breathtaking. Would recommend staying there any time.

Very interesting hideaway in beautiful area; woke up to a tree full of Knysna trogon. Well equipped; enjoyed a visit despite a very rainy weekend. Make sure you bring along a flashlight if you arrive after dark.
