“Home cooking at home”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

This homely coffee shop ( breakfast and lunch) is owned operated and run by Lisa a well known "Foodie" in Robertson. The coffee is good, the breakfasts are good, everthing is good and you feel like a guest in someone's home. Hers! Just go. It is as different from The Spur or KFC nearby as chalk from Cheese. Try it.

“Lovely, homely, super restaurant.”
Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

Lisa is our hostess. Meerkat kitchen shares her lovely home in Robertson. Quiet and personal service may be expected when ordering from her selection of oh such tasty offerings. If you would like a quiet spot to enjoy good food at s reasonable cost, do visit Meerkat Kitchen. We eat there often and also enjoy tea or coffee when in the area. I can wholeheartedly recommend.

“Meerkat Kitchen - home cooking at its best”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

If you are passing through Robertson stop off at this little home restaurant - it offers a selection of home cooked meals which are tasty and freshly made and affordable! Their vegetarian lasagne is delicious and their brownies to die for! Freshly made bread available and Lisa the owner/chef gives you a warm welcome. The restaurant is set back off the beaten track but worth finding. Enjoy

“Little gem of incredible value”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

This quaint little restaurant/coffee shop is hidden behind the Spar in Roberston. It is SO worth turning off the R62 to enjoy some delicious homemade food. The owner is a charming and lovely lady who obviously cooks with loving care. We stopped for lunch and I enjoyed the best butternut soup ever - smoothly creamy and delicately flavoured with homemade bread. The warm chickpea salad has tastes of Morocco and tender greens lavished with Feta cheese - scrumptious! Even your plain garden variety toasted sandwich is served with a generous helping of warm potato salad and a garden salad.
There is plenty of parking in this quiet street, with some shady trees and a nice stoep where you can enjoy excellent coffee.
I haven't seen prices like Meerkat's since the 80's! 3 dishes for R75, and HUGE portions. Generosity abounds in this little gem of a place.
