We stayed in the lower level apartment for 3 weeks and loved it. The views are stunning and the apartment is well laid out. Very comfortable bed that looks out onto the patio, pool and mountains beyond. The driveway is steep which was a bit intimidating the first time we drove up, but we soon got use to it and it was not a problem. The apartment is well situated being close to Camps Bay, Hout Bay and Constania where there are wonderful restaurants and grocery stores with everything you need for cooking in. In the past we have stayed in an apartment in the V&A, but we enjoyed "Beautiful Home on top of the Mountain" so much more as it was so peaceful and relaxing. Not only is the apartment and view wonderful, the owners, Sally and Dale, are the perfect hosts. They are there when you need them, but you also have your privacy. Peter does a great job of taking care of the room. They do have 2 dogs and a cat - we wondered if this would be an issue but it wasn't at all - they don't bother you unless you encourage them. I must say we really enjoyed the dogs. Thank you Sally and Dale for making our last 3 weeks in South Africa so enjoyable. We will definitely be back.
Firstly we must say a big thank you to Sally, Dale and Peter. Lovely, lovely people. The apartment is in the most beautiful setting and has huge windows to two sides with spectacular views of the valley and mountains, to wake up to the view every morning was a privilege. We stayed for 5 weeks and enjoyed every minute. Peter the housekeeper is a delight and kept everything spic and span every day. Will miss Peter doing my washing and ironing unfortunately he was a little large to fit in my suitcase to bring home. A most engaging young man to talk to and we wish him all the best for the future.
The apartment is in a very enviable position with secure access, very clean rooms, comfortable bed, nice bathroom and reliable high speed internet. Large TV and a selection of DVD's. There were maps, things to do brochures and recommendations for restaurants, but the local knowledge of Sally and Dale with tips of where to go and what to do were invaluable, like Die Strandloper Fish Restaurant at Langebaan, a very unuasal place to eat on the beach, a must try at least once.
and last but not least, Lillie and Sooz the two dogs - we're not dog people but we were charmed by them - so well behaved and friendly but no bother at all.
