I stayed at Intaba Lodge for three nights in December, and I can't fault it. The hosts were incredibly helpful and knowledgable (they also sell very good wine!); the room was spacious, clean, light and very pretty; the veranda has the most wonderful view; the garden is gorgeous; the lounge is large and full of useful reference books (although I wasn't quite sure if it was OK to sit there but I did anyway!). I could have happily stayed at the Lodge all day, but I drove around the peninsula instead - this is a good base for taking the famous Chapman's Peak Drive and exploring south of Cape Town in a car. Intaba Lodge is certainly not walking distance from the sea front but if you want a peaceful, private, comfortable, refreshing, regenerating place to stay I can't recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: I booked what was known as the 'Garden Room' which is very quiet, large and feels private ev...

We just stayed at Intaba lodge for 3 nights, and must say that we enjoyed a lot our stay... The lodge is beautiful, with an amazing view over the surrounding mountains... The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, rooms are large and beautifully decorated, breakfast is excellent...
But the best is clearly the great welcome and service from Pierre Marie and Valerie... They make sure you enjoy your stay, were patient with our 4 children, and Pierre Marie takes time every morning to give you directions, tips and maps for your discovery itinerary around the peninsula and vineyards... In addition, we had a problem with our rental car which broke down, and Pierre Marie immediately went to pick us in town so that we could wait for a solution from the lodge which made a huge difference for us with the 4 kids...
We were particularly glad to stay in Hout Bay which is a perfect location to Discover the peninsula and has great restaurants...
Net net, we loved our stay at Intaba and will defintely come back when we are back to South Africa...

Our first stay was 2010. We liked it so much that we came back in 2012, for a whole week. The first time we stayed at the tree cottage. A very unusual cottage, and you're all by yourself, separate from the main building. Second time: the rock studio. Also very spacious with all you need. Baetiful furniture, curios and antiques in all rooms. The gardens are incredible, worth spending a day at the lodge. Very clean pool. Very, very friendly hosts who are glad to help with all that travellers might need (they even made an emergency-appontment at a dentist's for me). The breakfast is amazing, very personal and healthy. You feel like you are a part of the host's family. We had our 21 months old daughter with us. Pierre-Marie and Valerie supplied us with a baby cot and a high chair and fulfilled all our daughter's wishes. Very friendly and easy about having a baby with them. We'll be back!!!

After a month of holidays spent in South Africa in August 2012, among whom one week in the region of The Cap to Houtbay at "Intaba Lodge" and three weeks in the "KRUGER PARK", we were able to test different lodges, but the first one at the top of list is INTABA LODGE to HOUTBAY. A lodge held by a couple of French, with a service more than completed, a warm welcome, a very nice African decoration, a comfort as at home. A spacious room with a balcony giving onto the beautiful garden, and a view on the mountain with a sunny orientation. No counterpart. The peace is very pleasant. No noise. The complete relaxation. We felt as at home. A private swiming pool in the garden. A good address to be retained. Nothing negative. Monique and Jean Simonet (France)

Having a 1 week hollidays in Cap Town, we really enjoy our stay at INTABA LODGE
Warming welcome, suitable place for an amazing circuit aound that area; Hermanus and the wales, table mountain, wineyard, Cap of good hope, Kirstenboch garden, proximity with Cap Town ( visit the waterfront ) ....... Other advantage : the houtbay city can be reach by car or by a walk easilly from the guest house. It is a nice small port where we enjoyed the craftshops, the restaurants, an the port itself, and its atmosphere ....No mass tourism was really pleasant.
INTABA LODGE has to be recommanded as the place is peacefull, landed in the middle of a various trees and flowers garden. The owners care a lot of the comfort of their guests, and are always available for good advises on the spot to discover
We appreciated their good knowledge of the country and their advises have always been excellent about the places to visit. We recommand their famous homemade breakfast.

Room Tip: Tree cottage, or view cottage - The garden - the breakfast

We stayed at Intaba Lodge with our 2 daughters (5 and 6) for the first 3 days of our trip in South Africa; we booked the Suite, which was perfect for our little family. Breakfast was delicious, taken on the terrace and listening to little birds...the suite was very comfortable and our hosts were warm and hospitable. Their help in recommending local restaurants, trips and booking taxis was a nice plus and we thought that Hout Bay was a great base for exploring Cape Town.

We recently stayed here for four nights and would highly recommend this lodge as a great base for exploring this region of South Africa.Down town Cape Town and Table Mountain are only 20 mins away, whilst the vineyards of Constantia are even closer.(Valerie is very knowledgeable of where to visit). The other vineyards at Stellenbosch are an easy drive away also.
Pierre and Valerie are great hosts and the Breakfasts are stunning, with fresh fruit everyday and a cooked breakfast prepared to your own preferences.A great start to any day;and if the weather allows eating on the verranda is simply stunning.
We had the Garden room which was a good size, well equipped and very clean.
We would definitely return here in the future.
