“5 Star luxury, excellent hosts.”

A rranquil spot. All the rooms are beautifully decorated and presented with all facilities. Shops and restaurants of Hout Bay very accessible and only 30 minutes by car into the centre of Capr Town. Breakfast on the terrace every morning very relaxing. Sue and martin are the perfect hosts, there when needed but very discreet. I would recommend this accommodation without hesitation

It's difficult to put into words just how relaxed you can feel after just a couple of days spent at the Hideaway. Sue and Martin have managed to combine the luxurious feel and service of a top class hotel with the warmth and personal touch of a home from home.
We opted for the Seaview room, a large room with a balcony looking across to the bay. The bed was huge and so comfortable that a single nights sleep was enough to wash away the tension of a years work in London! On waking you find a delicious breakfast (tailored to your tastes) awaiting you on the balcony, delivered without disturbance. The room also has a small kitchenette facility cleverly tucked away behind what appear at first to be cupbard doors, so tea and coffee are available to you at any time of the day. A bottle of wine from a local estate (red or white according to your taste) is also provided, an excellent touch.
The garden provides peaceful seclusion for anyone wishing to spend the day relaxing, together with a saltwater pool. Although we were the only guests during our 3 day stay, as there are only 3 rooms it is difficult to imagine ever feeling cramped by other guests.
Sue and Martin know a great deal about the local area, and can recommend excellent activities, restaurants and the best routes for driving.
Our only regret from our stay is that we couldn't make it longer! I would highly recommend the Hideaway to anyone looking for a good base for exploring Cape Town and the surrounding area, and certainly for those in need of some rest and relaxation!

We had 4 nights here in March, we had the Sentinel room on the front and our in-laws had the Skylight room.
Sue and Martin arranged for a driver to pick up up from the airport and the arranged for our hire car to be dropped off the next morning - perfect!
We decided to stay in smaller accommodation as we didn't want to spend our time in large faceless hotels - this proved to br the right choice. The rooms are large and the balcony to the Sentinal room has loungers, table and chairs and a hammock!
Sue served us breakfast on the deck, and nothing was too much trouble.
Martin was full of tips about the best way to get to places, and things we should see on route.
I cannot recommend highly enough, we stayed in some great accomodation in South Africa, but this was the best.

The Hideaway is heaven if you like tranquility, relaxation and comfort! Sue and Martin made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They were there if you needed them, but otherwise just left you to it. Breakfast on the terrace every morning was divine. The rooms are so tastefully decorated - I just wanted to move in! Attention to detail really is in evidence at the Hideaway - everything had been thought of. If you are there for more than 2 or 3 days then I would recommend hiring a car as the Hideaway really is hidden away. That said, it was about a 10 min walk from Hout Bay itself, and we took the tourist bus to Cape Town and other places, so nothing was too far away. We loved it - it was ideal for our 3 day relaxation period after 2 weeks of cycling around the Cape! "

We spent a week in the bay view suite and loved every minute of our stay. The warmth of the hosts Martin and Sue, the perfect service, fantastic breakfasts overlooking the bay, beautifully matched mismatched furniture, the ever so comfortable king sized bed and so much more. Everything we like about boutique accommodation, every room unique and all our home comforts. We'll be back, even if he have to take the laundry room next time!

I stayed at the Hideaway for a week with my partner and cant wait to go back!

The rooms are supberb with great showers and super comfortable, king size beds. We woke every morning to a fresh, healthy breakfast waiting on the terrace and the room we stayed in had beautiful views over the fabulous sprawling garden and pool.

A short walk away (about 10 minutes) are the restaurants and bars of Hout Bay where you will find some great places to visit. Sunset and calamari at Chapmans Peak cant be beaten!

Everything about the stay at the Hideaway was of the highest standard and Sue and Martin, the owners and hosts should be very proud about what they have achieved

The Hideaway was a cracking place to end a briliant holiday. We had the garden suite which was perfect with a small baby as we were able to put her to bed at night and chill out on the terrace outside.

Sue and Martin were very welcoming – a bottle of wine on arrival won the wife over – and good fun while allowing you to enjoy your stay in privacy. Breakfast was served on your own private terrace which made the start of each day really relaxing. The pool was nice and warm and our daughter had great fun splashing about in the victorian bath in the garden.

We found the Hideaway a perfect base for exploring the Constantia region – lunch at the River café and a picnic at Buitenverwachting were among the highlights of our stay, as was watching the sunset from Chapman’s Peak Drive.
