“Certainly worth the trip form Cape Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2014

If you are at the waterfront going to this market or the biscuit mill may take the same time, I recommed this one. It is "only" a small storage hall but the inside is crammed with artisanal goods of all kinds (clothing, pealr animals, stuffed animals, food, decoration, furniture....) and all that we looked at handcrafted in South Africa.

If this was not enough there are ample of footstands offering very well tasting and freshly prepared foods for absolutely cheap prices.

Add to that the freindly customers and the friendly salespeople you can spend easily 2 hours having fun, discovering new items or simply indulging.

Parking was ample and as it isi indoors it is good for both too much sun and rain.

“Good food and good music”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2014

Go there for a quick bite to eat, or stay longer and enjoy the live music and cheerful vibe. The market can get very busy and seating is quite limited, so go early if you want a good spot. Not really child friendly but great for the young adult or “young at heart” to go and enjoy good food with friends.

“Excellent Place to Visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

The Entrepreneur who came up with the idea for this place, really had an excellent plan. He/She converted a dis-used warehouse into a booming market. Open three days a week, they a variety of food stalls and clothing/jewellery stalls.

The selection of food stalls was brilliant: Chinese, Fish&Chips, Burgers, Waffles, Pizzas, really impressive.

Will definately be back. Just make sure you take cash. I think some of the stalls takes cards, but not all.

“Nice place to visit”

Really nice market in Hout Bay ,it has some really nice stalls to look at plus a really nice food market plus a decent coffee as well. We combined it with a boat trip to see the seals as well so it could be worth seeing what time the boats leave so you don't waste to much time

“HOUT BAY MARKET- a must visit when in Hout Bay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

This market is by far, one of the best in Cape Town. especially offers a festive vibe over the holiday season. It offers such a wide variety of products on sale, from fresh vergetables to fresh flowers, a simple range of hats to some very pretty jewellry. Plenty on offer of Art and crafts. A varied range of clothing, and many outlets of a varied range of delectable foods....
Whilst strolling the ailes, you can nibble on a delicious pancake, or a steak roll, and many options of seafood! Whatever really tickles your fancy! There is limited seating availble, but you can sitat tables and enjoy a glass of wine or beer, with one of many hot and varied meals on offer, or a glass of bubbles and a plate of fresh oysters. Or tea and coffee, and a delicious slice of cake! Some days, the market even offers live music, check to see which musicians will be playing,- the more popular artists usually play on a friday evening!
The market caters for families as well as yooung trendy people! It really is a great outing! Get there early to avoid the crowds!
