The stunning views and great food make for a great combination. Order the daily special for the best results.

The store on the ground floor also sells seafood but can be overpriced at times.

Love this place can't wait to return.

I went with a group of 8 people and there was an issue with our order coming out on time. When the food did arrive it was delicious and we were all very happy. The menu has a great selection. The special Winter deals were particularly great value for money!

The guidebook said good things about this place, the decor was nice, and story behind it is interesting, ie owner taking inspiration from San Francisco in the 80s and trying to respect Hout Bay fish harbour past etc.

BUT pretty much after you walk in the disappointment begins and worsens. A disinterested welcome from the staff, followed by complete of atmosphere, and then a menu truly stuck in the 1990s culminating in over cooked fish floating in butter and cheese...

The waiter or cook completely ignored our request to have the sauce on the side. We could not understand the massive amount of butter used in the cooking, and what was with the over cooking! After the excellent warmth and friendliness we had seen in the rest of cape town the service was indeed disappointing.

At least the wine was nice...

Today we were looking for an "easy, relaxed" atmosphere restaurant with good views! The Wharfside Grill restaurant was the place to be ! The Staff was friendly and service was really good! Love the staff's uniform, very nautical and befitting! Clean and crisp! We sat outside on the balcony and had brilliant views over the ocean and mountains! My seafood curry made from fresh fish and seafood was superbly presented and the home baked bread was yummy! My partner had a Thai curry which was just as delicious. Hours went by over a charming Sunday Luncheon and to top off the meal we had the Tipsy Brandy Tart .... oh my gosh ! It's a must!! Thank you for a super venue, good food and to the well trained staff!!

Fortunately my cousin had booked a table for Sunday lunchtime, which was extremely busy. He is disabled but the staff were all very attentive and did their utmost to help. Even though the restaurant was full the service was quite quick and our food arrived without too much delay. All four of us had the kingklip, which was the best I have ever tasted. The waiter was friendly and polite.

Prices were a bit high but the quality and freshness of the fish made the visit well worthwhile.
