“Great for Seal Watching”
Reviewed February 4, 2014

There are multiple Seal Watching Boat operators at the Harbour in Hout Bay, they usuall go every 30 to 45min so just see which one fits your schedule. Price wise they are all around 50-75 ZAR, if you go for the higher priced, its likely that your boat is less crowded, which we can recommend if you want to get good views of the seals.
The Drumbeat boat was good for us and we had a great 30 minutes at Seal island. The whole tour is only around 45-50minutes.
Coming back you get greeted by an overly cheesy music band, not sure why they instated this, it doesnt fir the experience at all, but overall, it was a nice experience!

“Activity to be done”

Second time at Hout bay, second time on drumbeat boat to see the sea lions.
Quick and affordable excursion, awesome for kids and adults.

“Boat trip to Seal Island”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

We couldn't believe how cheap it was to go on the boat ride. It was lovely to be out on board the boat and see the Sentinel, the Hout Bay harbour disappear around the corner to get to Seal Island. Took lots of pictures, loved it and recommend it highly!

“A good hour spent”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

My fiancé and I were browsing the market and waiting until lunch time, when we came across this charter company. The boat trip takes you out of Hout Bay along the side of The Sentinal hill and stops at Seal Island and continues on around duiker point to the Shipwreck. The trip lasts one hour and I felt it was great value for money, being R70 per person. Watching the seals diving in the waves and sunning themselves was a definite highlight. There is no need to pre-book this tour. Simply turn up and choose your sail time. There are bathrooms on board s well as a fully stocked bar which also sells snacks. The only downfall of this charter is the fact you cannot hear the captains commentary, unless you are standing under the overhead speaker, which was a shame. However the views are beautiful and the seals are a must see.
