“Not the same anymore”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

This used to be my favorite fish and chips or calamari and chips joint and you were always guaranteed good quality grub. Unfortunately the quality has swindled, the calamari is not tender, some were not even cleaned (little rubber strings attached) and the food was super oily - yuk. I hope they get their act together, because I love to go to this unpretentious cafe.

“Best in town”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

We have tried fish ands chips all around the Cape but this rates as tops. The fish was fresh, the batter light and tasty. We went there on a busy day over the Easter weekend and the service was quick. You can find it at the end of the harbour, far away from the normal tourist haunts, definitely worth a visit

“Great Fish and Chips.”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

You can't beat 'Fish On The Rocks' for great fish and chips. It's fresh, the batter is crispy, and it's all really tasty. And cheap. Well worth driving or even walking past Mariner's Wharf to the end of the harbour. (Walk from Mariner's Wharf +/- 10 minutes).
All of the seating is outside, although it's covered over. Some seats face the car park, others look out over the bay and Chapman's Peak. Great to eat fish and chips with the wind whipping through your hair, while hearing and smelling the ocean. Can get very busy. Open every day (so many places in or around Cape Town are shut on Sundays) until 20.00.

“Great value for money”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

We (a family of 5) had snoek and chips.
The fish was tender, moist and very very tasty. My hyper critical kids could not get enough.
You can sit outside (on the side) and enjoy the views.

“Not like English fish and chips at all”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

This place models itself as an English fish & Chip so thats how Ill review it, being English but no longer living there I was really looking forward to this....

The chips were nothing like chips from an F&C shop in England, there were ok to eat but I wasnt looking to eat just normal chips!

I had calimari instead which was nice but again nothing amazing.

Also no saveloys or sausage in batter :(
