Description: The restaurant is a local institution, renowned worldwide for the best Calamari in Cape Town, with a popular sun-drenched terrace overlooking the bay and mountains. Calamari at the Chapmans Peak was voted as "one of top 20 things to do in Cape Town".It’s the ideal location for those lingering sunsets and balmy evenings. A sun-drenched verandah boasting spectacular views of the bay offers an alternative eating venue for those wishing to dine Al fresco. And in those winter months, it’s one of few places in the Cape with fireplaces (dating back 100yrs)

Another great visit and more of those world famous calamari. The service was great and the waiters and waitresses always have a laugh.

“Pretty Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014

Went here on a public holiday so probably the best day to be critical. It was very busy. Food was still good and the service well above average.Nice wine list at decent prices. If I was passing i would come here again but i wouldn't go out of my way to come again.

“High expectations and a truly great lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014 via mobile

We had heard about this place and had High expectations. I must say that this lunch was terrific. We where 8 persons and arrive for lunch at 12 to get stable outside by the terrace. The service was great and our waiter was very serviceminded and he answered all our questions relater to menu and wine pairing. it seemed that everything was possible and of course we ordered the famous calamari and is was GREAT. Unfortunately our waiter "forgot" that they had ran out of fish and chips for the three kids and he apologised and we changed our order for steaks and fries (medium) served. One steak was well done and there were no problem when we returned the meat. Nice view (was a bit disapointed though), good service, best calamari ever and good selection of wine. I would defently go again.

“Best calamari”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2014

We were told there were the best calamari around and it was totally true. I recommend the combo with portuguese stake. Wine was also good. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed a great view from the terrace. Oh and try Don Pedro coctail, we loved it!

“Fantastic Location - Food Choice and Preparation a little bland though”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2014

I've eaten (and stayed) at Chapmans Peak a few times now. In the two years I've visited, the menu seems identical and the delivery is the same. The food is good, but for such an iconic hotel and restaurant I would just expect better. Service is very good, the view across the bay amazing.
