“An incredible place to celebrate that something special!”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend our anniversary at Tintswalo this week and all I can say is WOW :) It was incredible.. From the minute we arrived to the minute we unfortunately had to leave we were spoiled! The accommodation was just as amazing - we were in the Madura suite with the most amazing views overlooking the sea. Such great attention to detail in the rooms - fire place blazing too. It was one of the most romantic evenings we've had in a long time. Dinner was so special and probably one of the best meals out we've had in a long time. Really top class all the way through. Thank you all so much

Room Tip: All the rooms are stunning - they all have sea views

Having spent the last couple of days at Tinswalo Atlantic I believe it is without doubt one of the most unique locations in Cape Town. Whilst the Cape Town city bowl and Waterfront undoubtedly has its attractions, the uniqueness of staying in at an establishment that immerses itself in the natural environment of the cape peninsula is unparalleled.

The ‘game lodge’ style design, amazing food, wonderful service and great staff all combined to make it a unique and unforgettable weekend … all within easy access of the city and highlights of the cape peninsula

Thank you very much to the Tintswalo Atlantic team

Everything was perfect, from our room, to the food, service, setting and sea views. Even though we live in Cape Town, when we arrived at Tintswalo Atlantic it felt like we had discovered a hidden gem. We will definitely be back again!

Seriously this hotel should be on the list of the best of the world! making it so small makes it so special! I just loved the open kitchen concept the food was seriously un-ve-li-va-ble! service was awesome the views from the room, the heated bathroom floor! just an amazing expirience would love to go back some time!

Wonderful, excellent, top notch....has to be THE best by far in the area...if not the country! The breakfast was something else! Rooms are amazing and the turn down service was brilliant! Thank you all for a memorable stay.

My wife and I enjoyed a two night weekend at Tintswalo Atlantic. We are from Cape Town and have heard of Tintswalo for many years so we thought we would try it out. There are really two main things to say about Tintswalo, firstly the views. The view from the bathroom and bedroom (we stayed in the Robben Island room) look directly into the Hout Bay Sea, a mesmerising panoramic vista from Hout Bay beach to the Sentinel sheer mountain face barricading the small bay. The wild sea, literally on your door step, with it's pleasant sound from the consistently crashing waves forces you to enter a place of relaxation. The second stand out for which was more unexpected was the food and we would like to congratulate the kitchen team on a world class experience. These two reasons are enough to give Tintswalo five star rating and safely quite like anything else we have experienced. One small extremely aggravating point for us which soured our experienced somewhat was that on check out we were informed that Amex was not accepted due to 'the costs'. Frankly speaking this is simply not good enough for a place that charges the rates that Tintswalo does.

Room Tip: Sicily or Robben Island Rooms are fantastic but then we did not look at the others

My husband and I just spent four nights at the incredible Tintswalo and were fantastically cared for by managers Ryno and Melissa and all the Tintswalo staff. I have traveled all over six of our seven continents and terribly, I never write reviews when I return but my stay at the Tintswalo has inspired me. The service, location and attention to detail were superb. You are greeted with fresh towels and lemonade and then canapés and wine in your room or at the pool or in front of the fireplace at sunset. The rooms have private balconies overlooking the magnificent bay and they are decorated with such beautiful taste but not ostentatiously. The bathroom floors and towels were heated and turn down service included a bottle of port and candles lit around the room. I wish I could have breakfast there every day - even though it was included in the price they did not provide a skimpy breakfast as other places do. They brought fruit, yogurt and muesli, cheeses, smoked salmon, fresh mango and guava juice, and pastries and that's before you order your hot breakfast which can be anything you choose. The dinners were excellent and there was a complete but not overwhelming wine list. We saw the managers daily and while they were extremely friendly and helpful, they were never invasive. Our car battery even died and the staff took care of jumping the car and driving it back to the hotel while we had our dinner - I've never had that kind of service before. Hout Bay seems at first to be inconvenient to downtown Cape Town (ie. Table Mountain, Gardens, V&A) but it's just a 20 minute drive and being in Hout Bay allows for a much shorter drive to Chapman's Peak, Simon's Town for Boulder Beach or shark dives and then to Cape Point and Good Hope. I can't recommend Tintswalo enough and I can't believe that after all my years of travel, I have finally found a hotel that was so incredible that I would sacrifice seeing a new place, just to stay there again.
