My second visit and I am still very impressed by the immaculate surroundings, comfort and quality of the accommodation and the very high housekeeping standards. Owners are personable, friendly and a mine of information on local activities and restaurants. It is an absolute delight to stay here. The freshly cooked to order breakfast are a great start to the day.

Five minutes walk from all the restaurants in Franschoek, the room we stayed in was so comfortable. The garden and pool are an exquisite oasis. Some of the rooms are around the pool. The breakfast is a gourmet delight of local and organic produce. The hosts John and Russell could not be more welcoming.

We recently spent 5 nights at the Ashbourne House and found it outstanding in every way. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The manager’s encyclopedic knowledge of the local area and willingness to help with recommendations for attractions and bookings for wine tours and meal reservations was a very special touch. The Rooms are very modern and spacious with beautiful marble and glass bathrooms, heated towel bars and heated floors. The cooked to order breakfasts were delicious and offered plenty of selection. We will definitely go again and recommend it to others!!

Accommodation to rival UK 5 star hotels (yes, I've stayed in a few). Quiet location yet a short walk to all the best restaurants. Breakfast and service to dream about.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Ashbourne House during our visit to the winelands. We selected Ashbourne House based on its proximity to the Tasting Room, where we had dinner. The Ashbourne has a very attentive staff, spacious rooms (where we really enjoyed the heated tiled bathrooms), and a great breakfast. We would definitely go again and highly recommend the guest house if you are looking to stay over night in the winelands.

We spent six great nights at Ashbourne House. The bedroom was large and very well appointed with a very comfortable and again very large bed. The en suite bathroom was quite luxurious. We had a balcony where we could sit out watching the resident sun birds flitting to and fro. The host, John, was very knowledgeable of the area and provided great restaurant and wine estate recommendations. The inclusive break fast was very enjoyable with a good choice of hot or cold options. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
All in all an excellent stay.

We stayed at Ashbourne House on our first night in South Africa and could not have chosen a better place to acclimatise and relax after our journey.
Our garden room overlooked the pool and was extremely comfortable. A short walk took us to the wonderful restaurants of Franschhoek in one direction and up into the vineyards in the other. Russell and John could not have been more welcoming and their recommendations for eating and walking were spot on. And the home cooked breakfasts set us up perfectly for the day!!
We will certainly make every effort to return.
