What a lovely weekend away - Thanks to Don and his staff, you really made our weekend away in Franschhoek exceptional. When you upgraded us to the honeymoon suite that made us feel extra special - thanks Don.
The room was nice and warm, cozy and beautifully decorated. The view of the Lavender outside our room reminded us of our trip to Provence and the mushroom Omlette for breakfast was very yummy.
Don recommend 2 restaurants La Petite Ferme for lunch and Ryan's Kitchen for dinner they were both fantastic. The wine tasting at Haute Espoir ( try the Gentle Giant ) and Boekenhoutskloof was alot of fun. Our overall stay in Franschhoek was great 5 stars. We will be back when it warms up a bit.
All the best Don
Warm Regards Soledad & Chris

Sadly only a 1 night stay, but a memorable, comfortable and great stay. Lovely large suite, beautiful view over lavender fields. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, warm bedding and aircon to take edge off cold ( was very cold and wet Saturday ) Breakfast a little lacking though - was hoping for more in cold buffet - variety of cheese / muffins / croissants perhaps, but what was available was fresh. Will be back, in hopefully better weather and a longer stay. Pool area and outdoor seating area under moss covered cork tree with fairy lights and lanterns looks magical for summer evenings!

A mere 45 minutes from the city of Cape Town set below the majestic Franschhoek mountains lies the beautiful LAVENDER FARM Guest House. Owned by a renowned family in the hospitality industry and managed by the passionate Don who has led a very interesting life from an aeroplane pilot, restaurant owner and now managing this quaint peaceful farm with equally attentive staff who just smile at any request.

The property only opened in December 2011 and the rooms still have that great new freshly built smell. Each room has a living area (with flat screen TV and DSTV) in front of a massive bed with the most crisp percale linen. A desk area with full coffee facilities and bar fridge (not stocked) is available. The high ceilings hold beautiful chandeliers. A large bathroom with chunky bath towels and massive shower leads off the bedroom area.

Free wireless internet is also offered in the rooms, with a good connection.

Each suite has their own patio looking either onto the beautiful lavender fields or swimming pool. There are 2 honeymoon suites – so book early to avoid disappointment.

Breakfast is the only meal served and not normally served in the rooms, but Don made a plan and I gobbled down the most stunning omelette I have had in ages.

The property is a mere five minutes from the vibey main road of Franschhoek lined with some of the best restaurants the Western Cape can offer.

So the next time you are looking for clean, beautiful, service driven accommodation this is the place.

Room Tip: Any room is great - they are all spacious and face onto the pool area or the beautiful lavender fiel...

We spent the weekend at this guest farm. The rooms are large and well appointed with consideration for the cooler weather. There were ample snug blankets on the beds and airconditioning to warm the room. The showers are hot and the water pressure fabulous. It is so close to everything. Altogether a charning place with a fine view over a lavender field. We will return.

Room Tip: We stayed in interleading rooms 5 and 6. They all appear to be well located.

We stayed the weekend in Franschoek at Lavender Farm recently. It was the first time I have stayed in Franschoek, that wasn’t during one of the towns many festivals and its was a breath of fresh air. We spent the Saturday visiting beautiful local wine farms and although the weather didn’t hold up on the Sunday, we enjoyed a walk in the mountains.

Lavender Farm Guest House, is a great choice. It is just outside the town, so you get the feeling of being out in the country, but still close enough to the little shops and restaurant. The rooms are well appointed and we especially enjoyed the fireplace in room 8. Don was extremely helpful and friendly and made us feel totally at home. We would definitely stay at again.

P.S. Stony Brook, is a small, out the way wine farm, but well worth the visit.

We had bought a Groupon Deal for a weekend for 2 people for 2 nights at the Lavender Farm Guest House. We went there this past weekend (27/7/12 to 29/7/12). The weather played along and we had a wonderful stay.

We stayed in one of the Deluxe Suites and it certainly lived up to it's name. Everything had beautiful finishes.

The owner (Don) and all his staff were very friendly and accommodating. (Another guest was even given permission to have a helicopter land so that he could go for a flight and propose to his girlfriend.) (Thank you to Melanie for move to the Deluxe Suite.)

The breakfast was plentiful and I was delighted to enjoy the freshly made fruit salad. (As opposed to others places who use canned fruit in the mix.)

The farm is soothingly quiet and tranquil. Just what is needed for a midyear recharge weekend.

Kind regards
Karin and Doug

Room Tip: We would definitely recommend the Deluxe Suites at the Lavender Farm Guest House.

We have had a blissful weekend break at this stunning B&B, enjoying complete luxury and service second to none. We relaxed very quickly into the weekend mode with Don, the manager taking care of our every need. We even mixed up the DSTV channels twice and Don came down to help us, smiling and full of jokes, very eager to help, not in the least bit irritated. The position of the B&B being so close to town, yet out of the hustle and bustle is perfect. It is an incredibly tranquil setting and i have to say, being able to enjoy breakfast as late as 11am really made us feel so at ease and never rushed. We were able to relax and take our time and eating breakfast so late actually made it more like a brunch. Truly a little gem that we have found and will recommend to all our family and friends. There aren't many places in this world where one meets such genuine people, inspired by life. We will definitely be coming to stay again. Jodi and Lukas :)

Room Tip: We stayed in suite 7 which is the deluxe suite. One can see the lavender fields whilst lying in bed...
