We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite during the winter and loved the comfort and exceptional attention to detail. The location - on the edge of Franschhoek (quiet and private but within a short walk of the main street) - suited us perfectly and we loved opening our doors to the vineyard and the lush mountains that surround Franschhoek. The room was huge, with a large lounge area, beautiful decor and a supremely comfortable bed. Extra touches included a vase of fresh roses and lavender picked from the estate. The double bathroom was a treat: double shower, two sinks and a huge bath with rose salts and candles. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and we loved the charming cook who took great pleasure in preparing our drinks and cooked breakfasts. There is a very private feel to the estate and we enjoyed chatting to the owners and staff. If you're looking for a peaceful setting with a classic feel and personal touch then this is the place for you.

We recently re visited this stunning property and had the pleasure of staying in the honeymoon suite which is huge and luxuriously furnished. Being winter in the Cape I was very pleased that the bedroom had under carpet heating and thick curtains which kept in the warmth. Although there was a heated towel rail in the super bathroom complete with massive bath, double shower and two basins the floor was freezing! The breakfast was delicious with lots of fresh fruit and a choice of cooked items. I would definitely recommend Auberge Clermont as the setting is superb and the hospitality excellent.

We stayed in the Honeymoon suite back in September 2009 and it was amazing! We only stayed for two nights but could happily have stayed much longer. The location is idyllic and the room was huge! The bathroom in itself was something else! Two sinks, huge bath with candles and a double shower at the other end. Just writing about it is making me dream of returning one day! You won't be disappointed!

My family and I only stayed one night at Auberge Clermont but we really enjoyed it! The property is really beautiful, both the vineyards and the lodging. It was so quiet and peaceful, we hardly saw any of the other guests and didn’t hear any noise aside from nature. The décor of the rooms fit the style of the hotel and it was good to have a/c at night. One room opened out onto the pool and the patio looked into the vineyard which was a beautiful sight to wake up to. The other room was one of the attic rooms which was huge. Breakfast was delicious!! We thought there were plenty of hot, made-to-order options as well as a buffet with pastries, yogurts, etc. We walked to the main street of Franschhoek during the afternoon and it only took about 10mins. To go out to dinner we opted to drive as the road to the hotel was really dark and the reception at the hotel did not think walking was a good idea- the drive only took about 2mins. There was free wifi but we could only get signal from the sitting room near the reception. The hotel gave us good suggestions for wine tasting, particularly Stony Brook which was just a short drive from the hotel. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a very quiet and peaceful visit to Franschhoek but we would suggest staying along the main streets of Franschhoek if you want to be closer to restaurants and night-life. A final note, when we were walking around town we saw a listing for the sale of the Auberge in the window of a real estate agency, so there may be a change in ownership in the near future.

We stayed 2 nights in an Attic room which was everything you could wish for spacious great amenities and the added bonus of having skylight windows where you could leave the blind open and lay in bed and watch the stars. There was a great courtyard where we sat in the early evening enjoying a glass of wine. Reception staff Jane & Charmaine could not have been more helpful & friendly nothing was to much trouble. Highly recommended!!!!

I stayed here with my wife and 7-month old son for the first 3 nights of a 12-day trip to SA and could definitely have stayed longer! I would also highly recommend it to anyone planning a stay in or near to Franschhoek, which is a beautiful village.

We enjoyed the fact that it was slightly out of town as it meant that it was very quiet and peaceful and the scenery surrounding the hotel is absolutely stunning. The room (and bathroom) was fantastic and had plenty of room for the travel cot and all of our luggage (there was a lot). Breakfast was delicious and I only wish I could have had it at every hotel we stayed at after here.

The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful in giving tips on local eateries, wineries and things to do in the local area. There are plenty of great places to choose from. Even if you are not a car buff, I would recommend a quick visit to the Franschhoek Car Museum which is just a short drive away (15 minutes).

Room Tip: I can't speak about any of the other rooms, but room 6 was great.

If you find yourself in Franschhoek (and if you like wine and food, you so should!), then I can't recommend this lovely place highly enough. It's slightly out of town, so very peaceful- you will need to be prepared to drive/walk to town, which only takes a few minutes, but in my opinion, it's definitely worth it.

The love and care displayed by the owners and staff is exemplary. We had one of the attic rooms, which was spacious, beautifully decorated and air conditioned. At breakfast, a weather forecast is attached to your napkin. At bedtime, a handmade chocolate and a poem are on your pillow. It's little touches like this that separate the good from the great, and this is one of the greats.
