We spent two nights over a weekend here and loved it. The place is in a beautiful setting and we had views of horses and vineyards out our bedroom window. It is conveniently situated very close to the town but still out of town enough to feel like you are in the winelands. The staff and really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great with a variety of cereals, cheeses and a hot breakfast. The rooms are cottagey and clean and had everything we needed including complimentary bottles of water in the fridge. We would reccommend this hotel.
The only drawback was our shower in the bathroom which was very on and off.

I went here last Easter and had a fabulous stay. Three nights in acorn cottage (highly recommend) then on to the Merlot suite for a couple more (very nice too). Very friendly staff and owners and the lake is well worth a swim in!! Don't mind the fish tickling your toes.

We stayed at Auberge Dauphine for just the one night. The guest house is situated just on the outskirts of Franschoek, about a 15 minute walk into the centre.
The guesthouse itself is on a small vineyard and comprises of around 6 rooms in the main house and a self contained cottage. We stayed in the Shiraz room which was lovely and spacious with a huge bed.
The bathroom was quite compact, and the shower was small compared to some of the other places we had stayed but the bath was fabulous.
The staff were very friendly and helpful - pre arranging wine tasting on horse back for us and a lunch reservation at La Petite Ferme.
Franschoek is a stunning place and a very busy little town and we struggled to get reservations for dinner at some of the premier restaurants such as Reubens and Quartier Francais - but we ate at French Connection for dinner which was absolutely excellent - try and make reservations in advance of your stay if you have somewhere particular you want to eat.

In December We spent two nights at Auberge La Dauphine having chosen it on the basis of Tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed!. The Auberge is set in its own spacious grounds a few minutes drive out of Franschhoek. We stayed in the Shiraz room, it was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent.
We found Franschhoek itself a great centre to visit the Winelands and much preferred it to Stellanbosch

My wife and I have just returned from a short but wonderful trip to Franschhoek.

We chose Auberge La Dauphine partly as a result of trip advisor reviews and were delighted that we did. The location ( slightly out of town) from my point of view is ideal, offering proximity to all restaurants, wineries and other activities while maintaining a peaceful and relaxing setting to return to. The owners and staff are very friendly providing just the right blend between professional service and informal hosting.

We stayed in a room in the owners Chateau and any misgivings I had about living in someone elses house were immediately dispelled on arrival, the atmosphere being more akin to a small exclusive hotel.
The last time we visited Franschhoek we stayed at Monte Rochelle which we did like. The next time we return we shall try to stay at Auberge La Dauphine

Easy to find in a truely stunning setting. This place made a great impression from start to finish. The normal guest rooms weren't free for the time we wanted (and we booked early) and so we were told that a lovely room in the owners house would be made available for us instead - we were not disappointed.
Ronelle (the manager) made us very welcome and immediately tried to help us book restaurants on arrival and recommended the superb 'le bon vivant'. She drove us up to the owners 'house' which has been labelled the Chateau. Our room was fantastic!
The owners themselves were visible and welcoming and took the time to chat with us.
We had a pleasant short walk round the dam and through a small vineyard to get to the breakfast room. Breakfast itself was fine although the scrambled eggs (which seem to be a recurring south african failing) were a chopped up omlette!
We would certainly stay here again ourselves and recommend to others - especially the rooms at the owners house overlooking the dam.

We stayed the first 3 of our 8 nights trip to South Africa in Auberge La Dauphine in Shiraz room. The room was large, beautiful and absolutely clean.

The staff were very nice and accommodating of our very late arrival at 12 midnight.

The owner is a very nice gentleman with his wife, they are running this perfect guest house.

The building is beautiful from one side you have a gorgeous view of mountain and running horses.

Including breakfast and taxes we payed about $100 CAD for two person per night.

If you are not a big fan of dogs, you might not like this place as much. There are 5 dogs, which are very friendly, that are running around during the day in and out of the building.

The little village of Franschhoek is just beautiful. It's all about wine and dine! we truly enjoyed it.
