We stopped here for lunch. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The food is amazing. The wines were the best of the ones we had in the area that day. You must must must make it here for lunch while it is still sunlight so you can enjoy the views. We didn't want to leave. Make sure you make reservations well in advance.

We booked 7 nights in Pear Tree Cottage which in fairness did say it was basic accommodation. Unfortunately La Petite Ferme’s basic accommodation was a lot more basic than our interpretation of basic as I would have thought an inside shower in this climate was a must have. We had to use the outside pool shower which had the added attraction of no shower curtain. The television came out of the arc and the kitchen/lounge lacked equipment. We finished up setting the cottage alarm every evening when retiring as Pear Tree Cottage is the furthest away from the restaurant and reception (which shuts every day at 18:30) and we felt a little out on a limb regards security. On the positive side, the staff were really friendly and breakfast was excellent. We were disappointed with the lack of flair for the Valentines Day dinner (the only time the restaurant opened in the evening) as we found that it was the standard lunch time menu plus a 100ZAR for the entertainment. All in all not the greatest experience and we moved to Stellenbosch after 5 nights( having to wait that long as other accommodation was fully booked). We have certainly stayed in better ‘wine land’ accommodation and probably won’t return to La Petite Ferme.

Excellent restaurant, excellent wines, excellent and friendly wine maker who does the cellar tour/wine tasting (highly recommended), excellent accommodation. We stayed in the Pear Tree cottage which is directly in the vineyards and offers great privacy.

What more is there to say. I am not sure why it took us so long to head over to this farm but the experience was incredible. Thanks to Mark and his crew for making our stay a highlight of our trip back to South Africa this year.

Back for our second visit this year. Stayed in Pear Tree Cottage which is very private and has amazing views, so very romantic.

Enjoyed the wine tour and on Friday evening the wonderful live music with a bluesy band.

Facilities are great and, if you don't want to sample one of the great restaurants in Franschhoek, the cottage is very well equipped for self catering.

Can't wait to go back again.

Room Tip: Speak to the hotel , some rooms are across the road up a steep hill so will not suit everyone. Pear...

Eating out in South Africa on our first trip to this magnificent country was excellent. Amongst all those great meals, my husband and I had a perfect lunch at La Petitie Ferme. Great wines, beautiful views and friendly service. The food was delicious, elegant and beautifully presented. Goat's cheese, rainbow trout, springbok and berries were all delicious - and listen to your waitress on wins and food choices. We even did a little celebrity spotting with Michael Fasbender and Rupert Penrey Jones lunching at the same time. We will be back.

We stayed three nights in La Petite in the Manor House. The room is quite small but then this is reflected in the price, which was very reasonable. Everything was very clean and the bed comfortable. There is no bath but a huge walk-in shower. It has its own verandah and a big swimming pool just round the corner, shared with three other suites. The views are wonderful.

Breakfast was good but not as special as we had expected knowing the reputation of the restaurant but the views from the terrace are difficult to beat. We were hugely impressed with the wine tour which was easily the best we had during our trip. The wines themselves were pretty excellent as well! Sadly we had to cancel our lunch as the local tummy bug caught up with us. A pity because the lunch is obviously hugely popular. Another time!

We enjoyed our stay very much. It is a very peaceful spot once the lunch crowd have gone, and only a short drive into Franschoek for numerous eating options in the evening.

This hotel is beautiful. We stayed in the Provencal Suite and it was just perfect. The room was stunning, very clean and cleaned daily. The Private plunge pool was bigger than expected and was so luxurious looking over the vineyards, rolling mountains watching the sunset! The room had an alarm which was good and security were excellent.

The breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked, fruits and cereals. we also had lunch there, this is a must, beautiful views, great food and very buzzy. The place was fully booked so nice atmosphere, well worth a visit.

Thank you too Imagine Africa for helping is book!
