Our experience here was completely satisfying. We stayed here primarily to eat at the superb Tasting Room restaurant. But the hotel was equally charming. Beautifully decorated room, nice grounds, friendly and competent staff. Deserves its Relais & Chateaux membership.

Room Tip: All I remember is we were on the second floor overlooking the pool and that seemed ideal to us.

My husband and I stayed here on our first visit to South Africa. It is incredibly hard to find as the only sign visible from the street is bizarrely a le creuset sign! Once installed though we were soothed by the beautiful big room and the views over the charming garden and pool. Breakfast isn't as good as at other hotels in SA but is beautifully served in a charming room. We were however very disappointed that the fine dining room was not open - the main reason we had chosen the hotel. Luckily next door is a Great restaurant called Ryan's kitchen

My wife and I stayed at Le Quartier Francais at the end of a trip around the Western Cape. The staff of the hotel made us incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived and never hesitated to help. We have stayed at many deluxe hotels and enjoyed some good service over the years, but this was the best we have ever experienced.

The town of Franschhoek is a beautiful spot with numerous wineries in the immediate vicinity. There are plenty of excellent places to eat. We did, off course, dine one night at the Tasting Rooms and thoroughly enjoyed a highly entertaining and varied menu.

It was the first time we had visited the hotel, but look forward to returning when we are next in South Africa.

Two nights were not enough! A great hotel in a delightful village. Beautiful bedrooms set around an idyllic pool. Excellent service from friendly and efficient staff including the reception spending some considerable time dealing with and printing off our boarding cards
The Tasting Room richly deserves all its accolades and more. A fabulous, diverse and fascinating meal served by an eclectic mix of enthusiastic, knowledgeable staff who put everybody at their ease and in a good mood. Once tried never forgotten!

This is a lovely inn, really a cluster of several buildings with a lovely pool in the courtyard. The room was pleasant and the setting is lovely. Wonderful service. Franschhoek is a charming little town in the wine lands.

We stayed here for a couple of days over our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. We were surprised by how intimate and peaceful the experience was. We loved our garden room, with a private garden. We enjoyed laying at the pool while staring out at stunning mountain views. We enjoyed a 2 hour couples massage at the spa where we were actually taught how to massage one another! We also really enjoyed just strolling around the lovely, quaint, surrounding town of Franschhoek with so many stores and restaurants. We had already gone on various wine tours prior to arriving so, we appreciated just having some relaxing time to ourselves. The breakfast at the hotel was great as was the tapas lunch that we had at the hotel's lounge. We had a reservation booked in advance at The Tasting Room for dinner, which is located at the hotel. This CANNOT be missed! It was truly the most unique and delicious meal that we've ever had. I would definitely recommend the 8-course meal (over the 5) and to include the wine pairings. The food and wines were amazing, the waiters were so knowledgable and personable and all of the tables were facing the window as to watch the incredible sunset over the mountaintops!

Room Tip: We had a Garden Room which we loved but I imagine that all of the rooms are unique and lovely. They...

An extremely relaxing place to stay, a lovely room (free wifi) with a small private garden, right next to the pristine pool. The gardens were beautiful with the backdrop of the mountains. Sadly we were there on a Monday and Tuesday, so the restaurant was closed, but we ate well just round the corner on one evening, and enjoyed tapas in the outside courtyard the next. I enjoyed the fruit and cereals at breakfast, though my husband was disappointed with the lack of crusty bread and marmalade!
