“Winelands of South Africa. Stop Over in Perfect Franschoek.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

Welcomed by Clive and Jeanne and their lovely black labrador, Zack. Relaxed atmosphere, big rooms, was superb and hugegood beds. The breakfast is just amazing. The entire team is very friendly. The guesthouse is centrally located, just off the high street on a quiet residential road and is a short walk into the town centre10 minutes. I recommend the place for vacation.

Room Tip: All big rooms, was superb and hugegood beds.

Very lovely place to go if you plan a trip to the Winelands. The B&B is on the hillside with a perfect view of the valley. This B&B has for sure bigger rooms than a hotel and serves a fantastic breakfast.

We stayed 2 no nights in this beautiful B&B - the room & bathroom and our private patio were huge, the bed very comfy and the breakfast delirious - really high standard accommodation worth every penny!
Location was good too- You can walk to the restaurants in the town centre. We wish we were there a month earlier when the late summer weather would have been perfect to laze around by the pool!

My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights at Maison d'Ail when we were in Franshoek for a wedding. The guesthouse is centrally located, just off the high street on a quiet residential road and is a short walk/ drive into the town centre (it's a bit of a hill walk so pack some good walking shoes!).

Our room was clean and modern, and staff were very accommodating and friendly. We arrived early for our scheduled check-in, but were able to leave our car on the property and drop our bags off in our room. The room itself was lovely and tidy. The only tiny negative was the mosquito problem, but that is not the fault of the guesthouse, just par for the course of staying in a rural setting.

If you are heading to Franschoek for business or pleasure, and are looking for a no mess, no fuss, easy and accommodating experience - I would highly recommend this neat little guesthouse.

We were welcomed by Clive and Jeanne and their lovely black labrador, Zack. The accommodation is purpose built for guests next to their own house and they've thought of everything. Breakfast (excellent) is served overlooking the pool with the mountains in the background - stunning. There are plenty of comfy chairs, sofas and loungers dotted around the pool and inside the house for you to relax and chill on and plan your wine tasting tours of the area.

I must admit that for some reason when I booked the accommodation I thought that it was a closer walk to Franschhoek centre than it actually was but its was still only a 15 minute walk...though it.seemed longer when walking back from the Wine Tram tour with our purchases :)

Our room (room 1) was superb and huge....we had our own private courtyard and the bathroom was huge. However there was a personal downside that may not be an issue for others - it was right next to the kitchen and therefore even if you wanted a lie in you are disturbed by other guests or the staff getting breakfast ready - I know its a small point but the option for a lie in is important when you're on holiday. We often found on our trip that there were signs around hotels stating please be courteous to other guests after 10 pm at night etc but there isn't the opposite for early mornings!

I've marked the accommodation slightly lower on value for money as it was the most expensive place we stayed in on our trip down the Garden Route....but I appreciate that its a Franschhoek thing and not particular to this accommodation.

We stayed here in january 2012 and it was just amazing. Relaxed atmosphere, big rooms, good beds and the breakfast is just amazing. You can walk from the guest house to restaurants like the Tasting Room (highly recommended). The host is extremely friendly...
