It could've been ok - if my 2 day break was with my husband rather than mum and 18 month old toddler. I mentioned this fact when i phoned to book, but the lady did not warn me penthouse 1 would be totally unsuitable for the 3 of us and especially my son.
It is a very pretty room, but we had to move everything onto the highest shelf out of reach of my son. All the crockery are open on display, loads of trinkets and breakables within his reach - NOT suitable for a toddler.
As we were also not warned that it is an open bedroom/livingroom/kitchen, my mum and i had to sit for 2 nights in the dark having our dinner so my son could sleep. But the worse came the next day when temperatures reached 35 degrees Celsius - outside and in. The air conditioning was simply not cooling down the room. After several phone calls to the lax staff, an engineer came round. We were assured he'll fix it. When we went back to our room, there was no change. At this point the manager had switched off her phone and when the staff member recalled the engineer, who was actually an electrician, he admitted the aircon was too small to cool the room and the gas had run out. Our only blessing was that i'd put up blackout blinds for my son to have a nap, if those were not up all day, the room would've been unbearable.
Noting was done, we had to try and sleep in a boiling hot room, no compensation was offered and when i finally did speak to the manager, she woukd not accept any blame. And this place bills themselves 5 star.
All in all, very disappointing.
I won't blame them for the banging music which kept us a wake for a while in the middle of the night
