“Best Ostrich ever, but no veggie options.”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

Best Ostrich I have ever had. No vegetarian options, which my wife did not like. Good presentation and average service.

“Surprised”
Reviewed January 13, 2014 via mobile

We were placed on a table for two near the pass so we could see the chefs preparing the meals. Standards of presentation were extremely high. Food very quirky but to us over- complicated, but tasty. Service sometimes too quick and unfortunately we felt the restaurant lacked atmosphere . Ryan looked very intense -his wife 'Lana ' was leading service and was very thorough and helpful .

“The surprisingly best restaurant we tried in Franschhoek!”
Reviewed January 13, 2014 via mobile

We had no specific plans to go eat at this very nice little place. And, oh my word, we loved it!
The food was very creative and delicious and the service was extremely kind.
We will definitely go back to Ryan's Kitchen on our next visit to Franschhoek!

“Gastro menu with wine”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

A surprise 5 course dinner with wine in an intimate "home feel" restaurant.
Delicious food and great service in an intimate environment.
Part of a gastro few days that was superb and different and always great value with the rand/pound showing such great rates.

“Interesting food!”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

We were at Ryans Kitchen last Saturday night and had a wonderful eating experience. The staff are very attentive without being over bearing. We did sit outside on the terrace and enjoyed that, however as the evening progressed the atmosphere inside looked good and possibly better. The food was outstanding. Choices were limited with only 3 main courses on offer and not your average choices! On the night we were there the main course choices were ostrich, rabbit or cabeljou (fish) - none of these on my top 10 favourites...... however my husband and I choose different meals and both were fantastic. It was so good to have something different and interesting well prepared food - the flavours were outstanding!. The starters too were good and the chef's complimentary appetiser and sorbet courses just topped off a wonderful meal. We finished with a cheese board, again one of the best we've had in South Africa over the many years we've been coming. Overall a great dining experience.
