We spent 3 nights at Franschhoek Manor. It is beautifully furnished, one feels extremely welcome. Breakfast overlooking the gorgeous gardens and pool are a highlight. The second day we spent there we choose to spend most of the day lounging by the pool and enjoying the surroundings. We had the Master Bedroom which is very convenient to access the garden and terrace. Christina and Wolfgang make you feel very at home, they are discreet and very helpful.
We can thoroughly recommend a stay here.

We stayed for 3 nights in the Black room - which is beautifully decorated. We were met on arrival by both Wolfgang and Christina - wonderful hosts and their 2 dogs Sammy and Ben. We had a wonderful breakfast out on the terrace with spectacular views of the very well maintained and beautiful gardens.

Our room had views of both pools and access directly to the terrace. Wolfgang and Christina were only too happy to make recommendations and bookings for dinner and sorted out our trip to Boschendaal including a taxi there and back - fantastic customer service - could not fault a thing.

The gardens are amazing with white roses all around and seating areas in every corner of the garden to catch the sun or shade as required.

Would highly recommend to everybody for the venue and the hosts - a wonderfully relaxing place to spend as long as you need. Only a few minutes walk into town with a wealth of restaurants to pick from.

Room Tip: The Black and Blue rooms have direct access to pools and the terrace and are superbly decorated - wi...

We stayed for 3 nights and we had the masters bedroom. We arrived late the first evening due to a delay of the flight but we received a warm welcome from Wolfgang and Ben (one of 2 lovely dogs). The room is very nice with direct access to the terrace. The bathroom is well equipped. We had twice breakfast inside because it was a little windy outside. On our last morning we had breakfast on the terrace with the excellent views. Breakfast is very good. The garden are wellkept and my girlfriend and I thought that if one day we would marry it would be in this garden with the lot of roses. The situation is very calm and with an easy 15 minute walk you are in the center of Franschhoek. Thanks to Wolfgang and wishes to Timmy that he gets fit again

The Manor is a lovely place to enjoy a Franschhoek visit (only a minute drive from the center). It is very quiet, has a lovely garden with a nice pool. The rooms are specious and well decorated. We were very well received and the facilities were first class. We hope to come back next year.

Franschhoek Manor is a beautiful guest house with a fantastic garden and pool area. Wolfgang and Christinia were very welcoming and willing to provide information about the area. Only 10 minutes walk from the village centre makes it an ideal location.

We have been around as a family and in all our travels we tend to search for good reputabe and without feeling guilty we prefer to book in Luxurious places as long as they have the warmth as well even if we have to book those special places in low seasons, winter months, etc...

W felt all of the above as soon as we rang the inercom gate and the " WOLFGANG" reception
started, the smiles, the welcome, the lighting of our fire place, the breakfast, the impecable cleanliness, the beautiful gaden/Pool, and our whole Franschhoek Manor wonderful experience and staff made our six days and seven nights beats the Adrenalin out of Harrison Ford Movie when he was casted as the "Quinton Harris Drunken Pilot"

Thanks for Wolfgand, his family whom we could not meet (Hopefully next year), his professional staff and that stunning Manor in Franschhoek

Best Wishes to All

This place was beautiful although there were two things we didn't like much. It would be unfair though if I was judging our stay based only on these two things. It was a great choice after all and I recommend it. Pity we stayed only for one night. The reason is that the indoor spaces are big, comfortable, well maintained and it worth for at least an extra night. Franschhoek also (although looked a bit snobbish as a city) seems to have much to offer to a visitor. What we did not like was the welcoming in the place. We arrived with our car and asked from the guy in the garden to open the gate for us although there was a bell on the side of the wall. We didn't ring as it was labelled with two names (which we did not know by that moment - proved later to be the names of the people running the hotel). While entering Christina approached my friend saying 'who opened you the gate?' in a totally unfriendly behaviour. Definitely not a nice way to welcome somebody. My friend immediately introduced himself and she told him 'We didn't expect you so early'! In fact it was not early at all. Already afternoon around 16.30 if I'm not mistaken. It's a hotel and we expected a much nicer welcome. After that of course they were very friendly and quite helpful with us to be honest until we left next morning.
The second thing we found weird was the breakfast. Breakfast area is beautiful but not welcoming. Too much effort for everything. Food was nice and nicely presented but they really tried to be so perfect and over-chic that I didn't feel as comfortable as in other hotels we stayed. We were three persons the moment we arrived and we found it weird that on the buffet things were made for sparrows:-) What I mean... There was a selection of cereals and just next to them a bowl of yogurt which was hardly filled with 3 spoons of yogurt! Of course there was milk as well but it's pointless to put a yogurt on a buffet for one person! I would be happy if they had only cereals and yogurt plus some cheese. But at least what you offer there, offer them in a logic way. Then, there was the salmon plate with four salmon slices, cheese slices again 4 pieces and nicely decorated on top. Presentation matters yes, but they try to make it an upper class breakfast by placing 2 things with a nice decor. Come on! It could be a plate service then than trying so much to have a pointless 'buffet'. We stayed in 9 places around the country but we didn't have such thing anywhere else. Christina and Wolfgang put much effort and they tried to satisfy us but I think they can still improve the service and atmosphere. There's always space for improvement and this manor house is a beautiful place and it worths to be even better by all means! Sometimes details make the difference and people think they should add perfection by putting much effort but sometimes details can ruin something too. In any case, apart from these we liked the place!

Thank you for your feedback, although I was surprised to read your comments regarding Christina's "rude" welcoming. This was certainly not her intention at all and might be a misunderstanding as she usually is very well accepted by all our guest's.

I apologize, that you didn't feel happy with our breakfast and I entirely agree with your statement: "...there is always space for improvement."
