Bo La Motte Farm Cottages

We arrived about 6.30pm in the dark and could not get the elctricity to work. It turns out that a recurrent fuse problem meant that the mains kept tripping. This probelm was not resolved during our stay.
We got the fire going straight away. The firewood provided was green/wet and inadequate. We purchased better firewood from the supermarket.
The fire kept back-draughting and we all smelled of smoke and had sore throats. This also happened on the second night. At this point - we chose to shorten our stay at Bo La Motte and depart a day early.
My husband made a great point by suggesting that the management/owners spend a winter night in the cottage themselves to understand the inadequate heating.

On the up side - the farm and neighbour's dogs were terrific company for the kids.

We had the pleasure of staying at Bo La Motte. The cottage was cosy, spacious, well equipped and in a delightful setting. The mountain scenery combined with the vines is really restful. We were given loads of advice for eating options in the town. The hosts even helped arrange another place for us to stay when we were unable to extend at Bo La Motte.

Location was also great. It is 10 minutes to walk to town one way or 10 mins to the Colmont winery (for champagne) the other way. The walk home was hazy.

Great self-catering cottages. Clean, tidy, beautiful location, great landscape. The cottage where we stayed had two big ensuite rooms and a smaller room (also with bathroom) Big kitchen well equipped and fantastic lounge with fireplace. Quite and relaxing. Really good price. A little gem in a beautiful place!

Looks like I am the first contributor and I am lucky to be able to say what a great stay we had in Milkwood cottage. The 'house' was fantastic very roomy and in a stunning setting in the middle of the vinyards with great views of the surrounding hills. Only a short walk or even shorter drive to Franshoek town with all of its great restaurants.
The house was probably about the size of our own at home so the two of us were rattling around but it was an excellent quality and it was nice to have the kitchen and braii for some relaxed home cooking if needed.
I would certainly recommend Bo La motte and will definitly be going back should we return to South Africa,
