“Over-priced Tourist Food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2010

This restaurant really doesn't try very hard as they know that most of their customers will be tourists and therefore one-off. The tablecloth had holes in it, the restrooms were not clean and a sugar bowl brought to accompany the coffee was filthy, both inside and out.
The food was very expensive for what it was. The Thai fish cakes tasted of cheap smoked fish. The only Thai flavour on the plate was the sweet chilli sauce (out of a bottle) that accompanied it. A fillet steak was very tough and very obviously inferior quality meat. Not recommended.

“Fancy plates do not make for a good meal”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2010

Fantastic views. Staff tho' attentive all seemed sullen. Food was not up to the usual standard. Of my two courses, first, the Choux bun was soggy, the second, Thia Fishcakes, was awful, I could not eat it. This was removed from the bill
Two other tables were also dissappointed having travelled far. We all complained to the restaurant manager. He did wish me a nice day! Was it just a bad day in the kitchen? Jennifer Precious jenniferpreci@aol.co.uk

“A place not to miss, when you are in Cape Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2010

I love La Petite Ferme, A must when you are on your winetour or for a nice lunch.
Perfect view in Franschoek Valley, nice outside area.
Great food. I wasn't so blown away from the desserts, but the ice cream was better as in Italy.
Also coffee could be better, that is anyway a MINUS in a lot of good wine farms.
But still my favorite place in Franschoek.

“Great food in breathtaking surroundings”

This is a lovely place in an outstanding setting. The food is excellent and great value. The only disappointment is that being a small estate they run out of their own wines which can limit your choice.

“Better than Excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2010

Absolutely world-class lunch, wine, and service in the most stunning glass-front restaurant on the hillside overlooking Franschhoek - Sauvignon Blanc/Viognier blend best I've tasted. Shiraz right up there. Food presentation, quality and value exceptional. The wine-maker even takes the time to meet each table of diners individually - nice touch.
