It is a magnificent setting, easily 6 stars. Food very good but maybe 4 stars. Service good but it ia all about the views and the gardens.

“Fabulous Meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

We travelled to Franschhoek after nearly a week in Cape Town, where we had had some good and interesting meals. However, our lunch at La Petite Ferme was better than all that had gone before. Fortunately, we had been told about the place by friends and so had booked it in advance by telephone from Cape Town.

It was a very wet day and so we went a little in advance of our booked time thinking that a long lunch was the best way to cope with the weather, and that we might be able to have a look around. We were disappointed to find that a wine tour was just finishing, particularly as no mention had been made of such a possibility when we had telephoned.

“Great Food, Great Service, Great Settiing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2013

We ate lunch at La Petite Ferme during our visit to Stellenbosch and Cape Town's winelands. What a delightful break in our day. We had a lovely table overlooking the yard and mountains in the back and were entertained by the baboons strolling around the grounds. The food was excellent for all of our varied dishes and a good way to ready us for the wine tasting to come!

“Fantastic place for lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

Another of my must-visit places for a lazy day out. I've never stayed here but eaten at the restaurant many times. The food is fabulous and the service always excellent and friendly. Go early and relax on the lawns with a glass of wine, have a long lazy meal and then finish off with coffee on the lawns overlooking the Franschhoek Valley. This is such a great place to have a relaxed meal with friends.
