“Great restaurant and winery....”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

What a find! We had lunch and did a wine tour and tasting at La Petite Ferme. I am a grape grower in Napa, California and have attended hundreds of winery tours and tastings. John, the owner of La Petite Ferme, conducted one of the best tours and tastings I have ever experienced. He is extremely knowledgable and has a passion for his vineyard, his winery and his wine- which is very good.

Lunch was superb as well- beautifully served and delicious.

Love the place. Must book for the wine tasting which was a highlight.Food most enjoyable but sauce with the trout needed a bit more substance. Overall most enjoyable and a very good Franschhoek choice

“Deservedly the best restaurant in Franschoek”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

Visited on a Friday lunchtime, no reservation, but we were fitted into the bar area.
Enjoyed sitting in the garden drinking wine whilst we waited - what a view!! Food and wine were superb and the setting is just fantastic. You must visit here but book in advance to secure a prime table.

“Outstanding position and good food.”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

Invited for lunch by friends it is some considerable time since we last dined at this restaurant as we had previously not had a good experiences.

This time we were not disappointed; we were given a table on the outside terrace in the shade of a large oak tree with uninterrupted valley views.

Food was to a good standard and service was satisfactory.

One complaint; they had run out of their own wines which really is not good management, they did at least however provide a wine list of wines from other local estates. One person made the comment that their wines are on sale in the village supermarket!

“Superb”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

We had a tour of the Winery before lunch led by John Dendy Young the founder , this was exceptional ,both fun and interesting and ended up with a tasting of various wines. It is also free if you are taking lunch.

Lunch was preceded with some bubbles in the garden whilst we ordered our lunch. We had a lovely table on the verandah and the food was excellent with good wines available by the glass to match our different tastes.

As has been said many times before the views are tremendous and we dawdled over coffee in the garden chatting to other guests. One of the first things you should book when visiting Franschoek ( and you need to book)
