“WONDERFUL PLACE & GREAT FOOD”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

What can`t be bad - amazing views and amazing food.

La Petite Ferme came heavily recommended and totally lived up to its high praise.
A lovely table inside on the terrace with perfect service made for a wonderful lunch (not open in the evenings)
I opted for the local fish (Snoek)as a starter made up as a pate and my wife had the fishcakes and they were both excellent.
For the mains, we had steak and lamb and again these were perfectly cooked. This was all washed down with an excellent cabernet sauvignon from the farm and then topped off with the best cheese platter i have had in years.
In fact the people on the next table asked if the cheeses were as good as they looked and after i said yes they chose these to share and thanked us for the thumbs up!

After lunch we just sat on the bench in the garden looking at the rolling hillsides - truly heaven
Looking forward to spending a bit more time in Franschoek next year and returning to this wonderful establishment for lunch

“Friday night is a must for anyone visiting the Cape!”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

Every time we go to Franschhoek we have to go the La Petite Ferme, the sunset is beautiful, over the vines, and the live music and dancing makes for a lovely outdoor experience. Make sure you book to be outside though as it can be busy and some of the space inside isn't as nice as being in the garden at the back. It may only be burger, curry or chicken breast but its really really good!

“Basic and nothing special”
Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

To start with I must say the views are amazing, they do take your breath away. The food is nice, nothing exceptional and the menu is restricted (4 starters, 5 mains). We went for the jazz night on Friday as we had heard rave reviews, unfortunately this really wasn't the case. The band was poor/ok, the vocals were like karaoke and the music far too loud as we couldn't hear each other at the table. They played 2 songs, then spoke for 5 minutes advertising themselves at a jazz festival in Cape Town, then played 2 more songs and put on a jazz cd (which was better than them) and spent the next 15 minutes drinking beers behind the stage. The service was ok, but slow, and the cutlery and table wear were old and ones you'd find in a school canteen. To top it off, they have the cheek to charge R50 each for the band!!! 4 songs and self advertising, that's all you got! Basically it's nice, but nothing special, so don't get your hopes up.

“Perfect! Exactly what I was expecting.”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

One of the best restaurants I´ve ever been.
Excellent, beutiful views, great backyard to taste a wine and play with your kids overviewing the mountains...what a great memories will take with me from this place!!
Tried venison and lamb and both excellent and thay also have their own wine that combines perfectly with this kind of meats.
Obligated place to go if you visit the city.

“Better than ever”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

Went back to this delightful spot nestling high above Franschhoek. It was a quiet lunchtime, service was warm, attentive and friendly. The food (especially the signature slow roasted lamb) was wonderful. Excellent wine and the usual mind-blowing view. Great value.
