“Fantastic”

Le Petit Ferme was everything and more. Lovely setting with a gorgeous view of the nearby valley and mountains. Beautiful lawn and garden to stroll about and the food was excellent. The curry chicken salad and prawn appetizers were outstanding. The calamari main was fine. Recommended.

“Beautiful setting, fabulous food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

Last Saturday, a group of 11 of us went to La Petite Ferme as a farewell for one couple who are moving. I apologize to all who were sitting near us - we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves.

The food was fabulous (as always), but the wine was over-the-top wonderful! Sadly, you can only buy it there, and in some cases, you can only get certain varietals/years in the restaurant - not even in their wine shop.

It's a great little restaurant, and they have a terrific chef. You won't go wrong on the food or the wine.

If it's a nice day, ask to sit on the veranda - beautiful views over the valley.

“Lovely spot for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012 via mobile

It was a beautiful sunny day and this was the perfect spot to enjoy the lovely views of the Winelands. The food was very nice and I particularly enjoyed my Aubergine wrapped lamb on Mash. The Creme Brûlée was excellent. As usual the wine was good. The cost was very reasonable for our Australian dollar!! We would have preferred a table on the balcony.

“As good as it was 15 years ago”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

We last had lunch here 15 years ago and it was one of the absolute highlights of our South African trip at that time. We went back again recently, and it was just as good and memorable as last time, if not better. We started with a drink on the lawns, taking in the views and ambience (and champagne), followed by an excellent meal, consisting of the smoked trout, the fillet steak, and both children had the lamb and aubergine. All extremely well prepared. Desserts similarly very good. Service was also very good. Absolutely magnificent allround experience.

“Used to be great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

La Petite Ferme used to be one of our MUST 'have eaten at' places in the cape winelands. The service and the food used to be excellent. This time we made an advance reservation and were seated right away. The food was only average and the service was not very attentive. The lawns attached to the restaurant are nice and inviting to lounge with a bottle of wine after lunch, which is what we did. If it were not for the scenic setting of the restaurant we would not come back.
