My husband and I had Sunday lunch there. Upon entering the restaurant, one felt welcome, as a waitron wreathed in smiles greeted us. We had a lovely table for two between the kitchen and bigger dining area. It was quite chilly, so the heat from the kitchen was great. My husband had a starter of chicken livers (it could have been spicier, as suggested on the menu) but still good, I had the snails prepared in three different flavours. I loved the paprika and blue cheese options. As mains we had 3 different types of steak, rump, sirloin and fillet. Shawn-Lee our waitron was superb with her service offered...I would go back just for that service, she was exemplary with her knowledge of steaks as well and knew exactly which steak was which and this was complimented with 3 chosen sauces, being Moroccan Pepper, Garlic and blue cheese. The roasted veg was succulent and tasty. I love the thinly fried potatoes and olives that is served on each table on arrival. We had a chat to the Manager, Marthinus, afterwards and his friendliness just confirmed that this is normal behavior for The Hussar Grill Franschhoek staff. I will most definitely go back...and they have breakfast now too! Yummo!
