You'll either get it or you won't. We didn't. So the question the waiter should ask as you sit is, "Do ya feel lucky, punk? Well, do ya?!"

We were a group of 11 and when we booked we were told that they could not accommodate us at one table due to the layout of the restaurant. However, my husband and I arrived at the restaurant before the rest of the group and when we looked at the tables in the restaurant they were "normal" table that could easily be moved. Clearly table could be moved, but they wont!!!!! Without making a fuss we sat down at the table allocated to us. During the meal, our other table (a group of young adults : 23 - 26 years old) were told to please "keep it down" when a joke was made at the table and they all had a laugh. As far as the meal was concerned, we had the 5 course tasting menu and to be honest had it not being for the fact that we were treated like children at a nursery school by the F&B manager, it would have been extraordinary. It was obvious to us that the evening was about making sure we conformed to the rules rather than us enjoying the evening. I understand the whole thing about the "food experience" but I also know that a great meal is a combination of - food, wine, company, atmosphere and putting it all together making it an amazing experience. I was also a little irritated to find out at the end of the evening that the head chef was actually not even in the kitchen .... would have been nice to know when we made the booking!!!!!! A big thumbs up though for the waitrons, they were fantastic.

Initially they could not find our reservation but then realized it had been entered on the wrong day.
We were very excited to experience African inspired menu but I feel it was quite overdone. Too many flavors, and textures on each plate. Savory/sweet crumbles served under the food with each plate was like eating sand. What tastes I could individually experience were good, but meat too rare to the point of bloody. Each plate served was truly a work of art but I feel the entire meal was plate after plate of a chef trying too hard to wow the crowd.

We went to LQF for our anniversary dinner, although the food was good it had a bad ambiance. We were told off by the waitress for going to the toilet and going outside for a cigarette, she said every time you get up from the table we have to hold the food for you. Considering we spent over R2500 for the meal we should have the option of deciding when we want to go to the toilet and for a cigarette and not be chastised like naughty children for doing so. There was no music in the back ground and it felt a bit like a canteen. When the bill arrived it appeared as if they couldn't get us out sooner, very disappointed and in fact it felt a bit like we were robbed...

This was magic. The best food experience in my life.
My only strong recommendation is to go slow on the wine package - it is very very generous. Unfortunatly so generous that I almost do not remember the dinner. If you go easy on the wine - you will enjoy a meal of your life. Ps. Make the table reservation months in advance!
