Dinner here surpassed any other fine dining I have experienced. My husband has wanted to eat here for a few years and I have always been hesitant as I have dietary restrictions. This was no problem, and we were presented with alternatives as and when necessary. We loved that we were given different options as we were able to enjoy more tastes. The staff were fantastic, knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. The food was presented as art on a plate and the flavours of each and every course lived up to the presentation. A fabulous evening we will always remember!

My wife and I are both foodies and we visited South Africa and Paris for our honeymoon. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was the most amazing meal we have ever had in our life so far. The chef signed a copy of our menu for us. The restaurant might seem to be a bit small, however, it's perfect the perfect size for a perfect meal.

This was the standout restaurant of our stay in Africa, in our opinion topping La Colombe. We both had the surprise tasting menu with matched wines, one of us having 5 and the other having 8 courses but that was no issue and balanced perfectly by the very competent staff. A very innovative menu which was simply delicious without being overdone. Great explanations of the food and top service from all staff. If are visiting Franschoek it would be highly advisable to make an advance booking to ensure you are not disappointed. We loved it.

Even the appetisers made me say "wow" so I knew from the start we were in for a treat. We went for the 8 course surprise menu with wine and it's an experience that will stay in the memory for a long time.

Treat it as a bit of an adventure - you get a a sense of anticipation before every course and you may be eating things you have never heard of, nor will ever eat again.

I was there with my husband and although our first 3 dishes were identical, from there the menus differed so if you're food sharers like we are, you get to taste about 13 dishes! It's inevitible you'll like some courses more than others but that's just personal taste.

The flavours and textures are so skillfully and precisiely balanced. Presentation is stunning and service is informative and very courteous.

I'd recommend the wine matching option, you can do it without, but it's nice to try wines you wouldn't normally go for.
