We recently had lunch at Grande Provence and enjoyed every morsel. The food and wine were top notch in an unbeatable setting ... the best meal we had in Franschhoek over three days .. and because of all that we can forgive the slightly poor service!
Do make the trip: you will not be disappointed!

What an amazing place! We have dined a lot in Franschhoek - even at the top-notch restaurants - but this is by far the best place to go. Beautiful surroundings, a perfect menu, where you pick three courses for a very reasonable price, and some very nice wines.
Service was a bit slow and not very friendly, but the food was absolutely fantastic, and sitting outside enjoying the views made this the perfect afternoon.

We met our SA friends here for lunch. The drive into the estate definitely gets you in the mood for a nice afternoon. We all had the 3 course meal and multiple bottles of wine. The service was excellent and well paced. The trout entree was excellent, the beef was very good. The portion size was just right; we had plenty of food. Prices were reasonable. After lunch we walked the grounds to admire the art and take pictures. What a great place to spend the afternoon.

The restaurant at Grande Provence is the epitome of elegance and grace. The setting alone has you wanting more and more.
Having been just before the cold april evenings, my boyfriend and I were seated in the quaint court yard with a subtle fire blazing in the back.
The food is another level of amazing. The salmon gravadlax was one of the best I've had anywhere in the world!
The steak was succulent and rich with the most decadent sauce. Mouth watering.
But the deal breaker for me was the dessert. A chocolate EXTRAVAGANZA! consisting of a chocolate shot , honey comb ice cream, chocolate mouse , a peanut flavored sort of mousse and the most unbelievable fondant au chocolate... baked to perfection with a hot lava of chocolate that oozed out at first break.
This meal had me rolling home I was so full... but this was out of this world!

Despite the limited menu Grand Provence does it all so well. The service, the palette cleansers, the bread, it's all delicious.

It is a lovely setting and worth a visit for a special occasion, how anyone could be disappointed!
