There are some superb places to eat in Franschoek that's for sure so I may not choose French Connection if it was my only meal out but its definitely a very good option and should probably be in your top few choices - you won't be disappointed. Its a great atmosphere and a cozy feeling especially near the open fire on a cold night. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly but were quite sloppy in their appearance which is main reason for taking one star off their rating. Springbok was good but perhaps not the best choice for me so can't knock it for quality. The dessert, pear in red wine sauce, however was best I've had in a long time - superb. Every table was occupied so that must tell you something and many were surely locals which is always a reassuring sign. Some outdoor seating facing the street and the rear section looks over a courtyard area. I'd go back.
