one of our regular dining favourites which we try to visit at least twice per RSA trip.
country pate, crispy duck, filet mignon, kingklip, salmon fish cakes and damn good chips and desserts the moules when available are as good as it gets
Jason Ratner supervises a lovely group of people and the atmosphere here is lively and dignified.
great value for money and our advice to Jason is---don`t change a thing--it works a treat

Meal was excellent and all in all a great experience. Not 100% French, but the steak was done in a very French style...the duck came with gooseberries...I would rather have had a sweeter berry, but this did not detract form a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Great atmosphere, excellent service, wonderful food and (obviously) wine. Perfectly good value, given the Franschoek location. We all had the mussels, followed by the confit of duck - simply delicious.

The French Connection in Franschhoek, is French in name but nothing else. Yes in the middle of the town and fairly popular. The only aspect French is the paintings on the wall. The food is good, but the service slow, probably due to the fact that we went at the peak hour, when the restaurant was busy.

Hearty food, generous portions, excellent service and very reasonably priced. We had streaks, ribs and the beef stir fry - all very good. James, our B&B host at Maison Chablis recommended it and made the reservation which was sensible because it was pretty full when we got there. Nice buzzy atmosphere. Porcupline Ridge Merlot also very drinkable!
