What a lovely little place. The food was superbly made using unusual ingredients but in a simple way. Staff was all smiles. Highly recommended for a relaxed lunch.

Great food for carnivores and veggies alike. Lovely atmosphere al-fresco in the courtyard. Friendly and professional service.

“Great Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2010

We did not have a reservation so were unable to be seated in the main dining area so we ordered lunch from the deli and ate in the adjacent area with a few tables. The food was excellent and was more than enough for our lunch.

“A stunning restaurant, in a beautiful setting and amazing food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2010

Bread and Wine is a hidden gem, the food is wonderful - full of taste and you can almost taste the love and passion Neil Jewell has for his food. The home-made chacuterie is the best I have had anywhere and the risotto is a world beater. The wine farm the restaurant is one, makes it one of the most picturesque restaurants you will go to.

“Best Sunday Lunch in Franschhoek”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2010

We attended the Franschhoek Literary Festival and we (my sister and I) had the best lunch at Bread & Wine. Firstly it's a lovely unpretentious courtyard restaurant with staff that are helpful, cheerful and just plain lovely.

Secondly the menu has some many delicious options that the hardest part will, if you're anything like us, be deciding what to each.

We had a best every Sunday lunch here and the Môreson Cap Classique (one of the farm's excellent wines) was exceptional. It was so great in fact that we headed down to the wine tasting and purchased a very reasonably priced case to take home.

Bread and Wine you are our new favourite Franschhoek lunchtime haunt!
