“Peaceful under the trees”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

We went for lunch and had the smoked tongue - not a dish that I would normally eat, but it was absolutely delightful! It is in a picturesque setting and an afternoon goes by without you noticing it.

“Wonderful Lunch”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

We had a wonderful lunch at Bread & Wine on Saturday. Firstly, the staff were friendly and attentive, always making sure that the glasses were kept full and that we were satisfied with everything. Lots of smiles and laughter.
The charcuterie platter was perfect as a starter for two and then, as a mains, the Springbok loin was fantastic with accompaniments different from the norm.
The wine was good and well priced too.
Definately worth another visit.

“go for the charcuterie”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

A lovely setting on a sunny day. Service is excellent. The charcuterie platter was the highlight, with the risotto a little disappointing ( needed more time?). The Botswana rump was a bit tough, but full of flavour and perfectly cooked . These small quibbles will not prevent another return visit. They are busy over the weekend, so booking is advised.

“Lovely setting, great food and service”
Reviewed April 13, 2013 via mobile

Fully deserving of its Tripadvisor rating, this is a lovely spot for lunch. Beautiful courtyard setting with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The wine is incredibly well priced (£1.50 for a glass of bubbly!) and the food is well portioned, inventive and beautifully presented.

“Culinary Delight”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Bread and Wine has the perfect setting under the oak trees and vines for a long lazy wine tasting lunch . Great atmosphere , brilliant service and sensational food. Try the Springbok ,Lamb or Botswana beef or any of the Moreson wines. ( the wines/champagne are at cellar prices and not restaurant prices so as you can imagine far too much was consumed !! ) If you are visiting Franschoek make sure this is the first place you book.
