Moreson is very popular for lunches, and rightfully so. You need to book well in advance, but the experience is worth the effort. Quality dishes served in surprising ways. Definitely Michelin-star quality, in a cosy atmosphere.

Went there on Sunday 19th for lunch and asked if we could arrive at around 14H00 as we wanted to taste a few wines along the way. Luckily we did as they were fully booked for normal lunch. The tables are set underneath the trees (old Oak ) and it was packed with locals and foreign tourists. You can sit inside in airconditioned restaurant, but the outside is so much more pleasant, despite the heat... Ordered our food and went for a wine tasting on their estate and the wines are superb... 15 minutes later our food arrived and Wow what a treat for the palet. From the Risotto cooked in Cap Classique sparkling wine with the pea mousse, to the Gnochi and the Beetroot soup. ALL SUPERB. Spoke to French people who were sitting at the table next to us and this was their 4 visit to South Africa and they said that their Kudu was great. So if you really want to treat yourself to Good Food and Wine, do yourself and drive out there. It is absolutely worth it.

What a find! The setting, under the trees, beautiful on a summer's day. The maitre d was the only one we encountered that week who saw my husband taking photos and offered to take one of the both of us together. My lunch of butternut and apricot samoosas and snoek pate was suprising in its delivery and utterly delicious. My husband raved about his pizza for the rest of our stay. His chocolate truffles and coffee was pronounced "too good to share" and my creme fraiche pannacotta with summer berries was perfect for the warm afternoon. I see other reviews have mentioned slow service but we had no complaints and it was a busy service. We will return again for sure!

Bread and Wine came highly recommended and both food and wine was good, freshly prepared and no complaints. Service on the other hand was disastrously slow, an hour in and still no food. At least we had a glass of wine, for a while. A busy Saturday but really no excuse for getting it so wrong. A kitchen problem as waiting staff were stood around with nothing to do for much of the staff. Too many better places to give them a second chance.
