Unfortunately we only spent two nights at Maison Chablis but without doubt it was most enjoyable few days of our honeymoon, upon travelling on to our next destination we gave serious consideration to phoning James up and asking if he had a room available so we could come back. Upon arriving we were greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome, James gave us alot of information on Franschhoek, the restaurants and where to visit - all his recommendations were fantastic - he was incredibly helpful, even to the point that he recommended a restaurant at our next destination (some 300+km away!) and again this proved to be exactly as he described it. The rooms and terrace area are very smart, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. There are added little luxuries such as Molton Brown toiletries, biscuits, bottled water to mention just a few. The pool area and garden is beautiful and peaceful - no having to race to put towels on your loungers here!! The breakfasts were delicious and the service superb. We really couldn't rate this guesthouse any higher and would recommend it to anyone, Franschhoek itself is a fantastic place to stay and we were only sad that we weren't staying for a week, we will certainly be returning.

Hi,
Firstly thank you for staying at our establishment and to consider having a portion of your honeymoon with us. It is an honour for such a special celebration in your lives together. I am very pleased that you left feeling satisfied with both Maison Chablis and we certainly hope to see the two of you again soon. Best wishes from James, Pat and all our staff! I am really very happy that you had a great time.

I cannot explain how happy and impressed we were with this b&b. First of all, it is lovely. The rooms are great, the showers and bathroom too and the location just off the main road. Wonderful!! Then, the personal touch of the owner is just brilliant. He booked a couple of restaurants for us before we arrived (and they were great). This was important being such a busy time. We then had a lunch booked at La Petite Ferme (don't miss it by the way..wonderful)..he offers us a ride there and to another place, just so we could enjoy having a drink. He offered wonderful tips and was just ever so helpful. Really, one of the best services we ever experienced and we travelled to many, many places. We couldn't fault this place and would recommend it in a heartbeat. Oh, and did I mention the breakfast and Molton Brown toiletries.

We stayed 2 nights at Maison Chablis on 26th and 27th December with our two teenage boys. This was a very last minute booking but James could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The rooms were beautifully furnished with some lovely little touches, like the complementary bottles of water and jars of biscuits in the rooms. Free Wifi also useful. Beds were very comfortable. The guest house is very quiet and peaceful - the perfect place to relax. Breakfast was good and cooked to order. James was eager to give advice on restaurants and lent us his hiking map so we could follow some of the local trails. The hiking is highly recommended if you feel like a little activity to walk off the food and wine - the trail we followed on James recommendations took about 2 hours and provided us with the most stunning view imaginable when we got to the top! We didn't use the pool but the loungers by it were very comfortable. We were sad to only have 2 nights there as we could easily have stayed longer. We hope to return to Franschoek and when we do will certainly return to Maison Chablis. Highly recommended.

Hi, I remember your family very well. I think you really got the best our of Franschhoek, and I am so glad that you did that hike to Uitkyk Point. Franschhoek has so much else to offer other than just Food and Wine, which when you have a family, can be a bit challenging after a few days of eating and drinking. I look forward to your return, it was great intertacting with your family. Best regards, James

Maison Chablis is situated in a quiet street very close to the heart of Franschhoek. The rooms are spacious, well furnished and comfortable. James cannot do too much to help his guests enjoy their stay. The garden and pool area combines sunny spots with shade. We enjoyed our stay so much, we were reluctant to leave.

Maison Chablis was everything we hoped for. It was in a convenient location, James and Pat were the perfect hosts who where there to help when ever needed. The breakfast room was beautiful and the food was great. Our room was comfortable. I celebrated my birthday there and James provided a dessert with a candle at breakfast and my friends provided champagne. What a way to start my day. We definitely would return!!

Maison Chablis is a wonderful place in stay in Franschoek! A great location in a quiet street, only a very short walking distance from town. James was very welcoming and informative on our arrival. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully furnished. Bathrooms spacious and had my favourite toiletries from Moulton Brown! Breakfast was just superb!
James could not have been more helpful- from recommending and booking restaurants, ( Reubens and French Connection) to finding the best place for a manicure ( just across the road!)
An excellent host- Thank you James.
